There are many uses for corn — food, sugar, energy — but your pet bird will not be demanding about its corn and just prefer to dive in, beak-first. Serving corn on the cob is easy — just your pet bird a cooled-down chunk of corn on the cob and you’re done! Your pet bird will enjoy the corn kernels, and it might also keep your pet bird busy shredding the cob to bits, giving you a few minutes to relax before you have to clean up the mess.
A corn cob can be a bit overwhelming for some smaller pet birds. Luckily, those little kernels come right off! With a couple scrapes of a spoon, a piece of corn on the cob is instantly turned into a small bowl of creamed corn for some of the smaller bird beaks out there. Be forewarned. your pet bird may decide to use this “creamed” corn as some additional plaster for your walls, or reinforcement for the outside of its food bowls before it gets done with its meal. A chisel may be necessary if it dries!
