Holly Russo of Maryland likes this recipe because it is simple and easy to make. She also likes that the ingredients don’t have to be refrigerated.

Add a bit of a flair of to your bird's food with this recipe.
• 3 tablespoons budgie seed
• 1 teaspoon dried bird greens
• 1/4 teaspoon dried egg treats
•1 drop Budgie vitamin (optional)
Russo serves the ingredients in separate piles on the dish so that her budgies can choose to have straight seed, dried greens or dried egg treats.
You can incorporate fresh foods into this recipe. Just substitute chopped fresh greens for the dried greens. You can also substitute a chopped hard-boiled egg, with the shell, in place of the dried egg treat.
If you use fresh ingredients, store any leftovers in an airtight container and keep refrigerated. Check on the Budgie Blend after a few hours, and discard any leftovers still in your bird’s bowl.
