Life with a pet bird is a life of adventure. You can’t always predict exactly which sight or sound will send your bird into a fit of screaming or pinpoint the motive behind a seemingly unwarranted nip. And unique to bird owners is the never-ending prospect of being pooped-on by your pet. Years ago, some creative individual, with no doubt lots of time to spare, designed a “MacGyver-style” survival pack from an Altoid® mint tin filled with common household items (www.survival.com/best.htm). We took this concept and put together a bird owner’s survival kit. Keep it in your purse, bag, car glove-box or even your coat pocket (it’s that small).
