BIRD TALK: Your Bird, Your Modern Home

Update or build your home with your bird in mind

By Susan Chamberlain

What does modern mean to you?  A minimalist white box furnished with glass and chrome? Hard surfaces, straight edges and geometric shapes? Whether your taste is mid-century modern, Tuscan villa or traditional, you can update with beak-resistant contemporary décor and materials!

Bird-Resistant
Tile floors don’t sustain permanent damage from flung fruit, enthusiastic bathing and bird droppings. Granite, glass and stainless steel clean up easily with a cloth or paper towel moistened with window cleaner, rubbing alcohol or white vinegar. Glass tabletops, metal bases and hard-plastic furniture are quite impervious to beak damage and staining.

Contemporary furnishings are sanitary! Imagine simply wiping green bird poop off a molded plastic chair instead of scrubbing it out of the upholstery!
