What's the difference between tame, trained and trick-trained?

My “tame” cockatiel will fly to my head. My “trained” macaw will lie on her back and put her toes in the air for a nail trim. My “trick-trained” Amazon parrot will turn around in a circle when asked. If you are a fan of positive-reinforcement training like me, you may be scratching your head right now feeling a bit confused. What makes tame different from trained or trick-trained?
