In 1995 I took a photo of my blue-fronted Amazon, Jimmy Bob, sent it to BIRD TALK, and it was included on the “Watch the Birdie” page of the December 1995 issue. The next year, I entered it into the 1996/97 Birds USA photo contest, and it won first prize in the “Pretty Feathers” category. I thought that was that; a nice end to a wonderfully satisfying experience, but I was wrong.
