Bird Memorial
Archie - Budgerigar
Memorial Text:
Archie was a beloved bird. He was tame and intelligent, and adorable. He was a good acrobat and singer. He always wanted a mate. He fell in love with Cocky, my cockateil! As soon as I put Cocky on the cage, Archie walked up to her, fluffed, and sang. Adorable! Whenever he ate millet and it fell, he ran to the edge of the cage and looked down, motioning for me to retrieve it. He liked climbing and being fed, and being on your shoulder. He knew the commands "up" and "down" and woudn't get on my finger untill I said up. He was nice to both birds and humans. the night after he died, I said to my mother, "wich one? Wich one is dead?" I held my breath. "I don't know, "she said. "But I thought I could see some green in the feathers." I cried. I didn't speak the whole night. I arrived home, kissed Archie goodnight, goodbye, and slept myself. I miss him.
