Budgies are some of the most cheerful pet birds out there — and the most popular. It’s impossible not to smile when a budgie’s near.

Although these small parrots don’t look like they need a lot of room, you shouldn’t scrimp on a budgie’s cage. Budgies are more active than many larger parrots. They fly or hop from perch to perch; they vigorously swing back and forth and scramble up ladders. You’ll want to invest in a proper home setup for your budgie so it lives a long, healthy life.

Often times people cut corners when it comes to budgies--too small cages, too few toys, inadiquate diets, etc. I think it's great that BirdTalk is helping to educate more budgie owners...I wish they were around when I got my first budgie!
