Parrots might be popular, but birds like doves, pigeons, finches, canaries and softbills have something to offer, too! These birds are a delight to own — though the softbills might be hard to find!
Made famous by being the inspiration for the mascot of a popular cereal, toucans are softbill birds native to tropical America. They are not birds that talk, but they have a call, that, in the wild, can be heard for miles. Largely known for their long colorful beaks, toucans come in a variety of species, the largest and most recognized being the toco toucan.
