"Each of my birds has at least three different kinds of perches," said Meredith Bain, who shares her home with a white-bellied caique and an Indian ring-necked parakeet. "They each have a concrete perch, a cactus perch and a natural wood or rope perch. It’s important for them to have different surfaces to stand on so they don’t get sore feet."
