Midwesterners, it’s time to round up your talented birds.
“The Late Show with David Letterman” is holding auditions for its popular “Stupid Pet Tricks” segment during the Everything Pets Expo, Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati.
Pets of all sizes, colors and varieties – including pet birds – can enter the contest. The show is looking for tricks that are fun, unique and safe. The animals must perform voluntarily and be treated humanely. Selected participants will receive a free trip to New York City and payment for their appearance on the show.
“I’m excited to see the best of what the people and pets of the Midwest area have to offer,” said Ryan Williams, talent assistant at “The Late Show.” “I’m always looking for a trick that I’ve never seen before.”
As one of his trademarks, Letterman has hosted “Stupid Pet Tricks” since he began as a talk show host 25 years ago. The segment began airing nationally when he took over “The Late Show” on CBS in 1993.
