NAPPS Announces 2008 Board of Directors

Two new directors join pet sitter organization’s board

The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS) announced its newly elected board of directors effective January 1, 2008.

New directors to join the board this year are Nancy Stevens of Ark Angels Pet Care in Raleigh, N.C., and Jennifer Haralson of A Pause for Paws, Inc. in Lincoln, Neb.

Board member Vickie L. Reason of Happy Tails Pet Services in Tucson, Ariz., was elected treasurer this year.

Other board officers held their positions: Candance Labane-Godfrey, president, Precious Pets In Home Services, Sacrimento, Calif.; Monica Leighton, president elect, Professional Pet Sitting, Venice, Fla.; John D’Ariano, secretary, Pet Sitter Plus, Boynton Beach, Fla.

Standing directors include: Kathie Luxton, Ranch Pet and House Sitting in Bradenton, Fla.; Linda Norton, Precious Pets in Westerly, R.I.; Susan Reid, Reid’s Pet Sitting Service in Merced, Calif.; and Joette White, Park Cities Pet Sitter, Inc. in Dallas, Texas.

NAPPS is a national nonprofit trade association composed of pet sitters, business owners and entrepreneurs in the at-home pet care industry. It is dedicated to promoting and improving the industry and promoting animal welfare.

Will they be discussing the possibility of pet sitters being required to take police training as a part of a licensing procedure?
