After 11 years as president of the Amazona Society, Diana Holloway, retired from her position this August. Holloway was a member of the club since 1984. Incoming president, Shari Beaudoin, appointed by Holloway, has been a member for five years and previously acted as the group’s Minnesota advisor. Beaudoin is also co-owner of Parrot Island (www.parrotislandinc.com).
Beaudoin said she hopes to maintain the group’s focus on education and the preservation of both wild and captive-bred Amazons. “I plan to continue the excellent work already being done by the Amazona Society and its outgoing president, Diana Holloway,” Beaudoin said.
The Amazona Society is an all-volunteer group. For more information about the club, visit www.amazonasociety.org.
