Dr. Frederick Shulak has committed $300,000 to establish the Frederick B. Shulak Endowed Fund in avian medicine at Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine to promote high-quality research, scholarship, instruction, veterinary care, student services and public service in avian medicine at the school. This is an estate endowment of Frederick Shulak, DVM, a 1958 graduate of the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine who owns and practices at the North Branch Animal Hospital in Southfield, Michigan "I feel strongly that I need to give back to that which has provided me with so much, " Shulak said. "I've created this endowment in the hope that it will inspire others to pursue avian practice." Dr. Shulak is a charter member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV) and has been active in that organization since its inception in 1980.
