A few open seats remain for the "Living and Learning with Parrots" workshop, hosted by The National Parrot Rescue & Preservation Foundation (NPRPF). Due to Hurricane Rita it was rescheduled from September 24 and 25 to October 22 and 23, 2005.
Susan G. Friedman, Ph.D psychology professor at Utah State University, and applied behaviorist for 30 years, will lead the two-day workshop, which is designed to teach participants how parrots learn and to introduce positive reinforcement to the parrot’s behavior by changing the interactions and environment arrangements of the parrot caretaker. The theory behind the workshop is that parrots, like all learners, must have power to positively operate in their environment and to live healthy lives.
