Muller's Parrot Species Profile
Traits:  Muller's parrots appear to be hardy birds. They are playful, vocal and, while not as many of them are kept in captivity as some of their Tanygnathus relatives, those that are kept as pet birds seem to enjoy and respond to activities and sounds around them.

Behavior/Health Concerns:  Some Muller's parrot females tend to be aggressive toward the male, so if these parrots are kept in pairs, two separate bowls of food is recommended. As with other Tanygnathus parrots, Muller's parrots need extra seed and nuts in their daily diet; however, they have a tendency toward obesity, so it is important to keep a careful watch on how much they eat. They are active birds and need space in which to play and exercise.

Expert Advice
"Muller's parrots are beautiful, active birds that are currently not very common in the U.S. pet trade."
