Treat your family and friends to parrot-themed cupcakes this holiday season Enjoy some parrot-themed cupcakes!

What You’ll Need
• Muffin pan
• Box cake mix
• One canister of frosting (light-colored frosting is preferable, such as vanilla or lemon flavored.)
• Colored sprinkles
• Cupcake holders
• Mini marshmallows
• Black gel frosting
• Candy corn
• Gummy worms

What To Do

Prepare the cake mix according to the box instructions. Once cupcakes are baked you can start decorating:

1) Frost cupcakes and then add sprinkles.(To disperse sprinkles evenly, pour sprinkles in a small bowl, and gently press the top of the cupcake on the pile.)

2) Place two mini marshmallows about a quarter of an inch apart to form the eyes. Use the black gel frosting to add a dot in the center of each marshmallow to finish the eyes.

3) Place a candy corn, pointed-end down, just below the eyes to form the beak.

4) Add gummy worms to the top of the cupcake to create a crest.

Create your own "bird species” by trying different edibles to form the eyes, beak and crest, such as mini M&M eyes, cashew beaks, licorice crests, etc.
