VIDEO: Watch This Parrotlet "Climb" The Stairs

The bigger birds have it easy climbing the stairs, but being tiny won't stop this parrotlet from doing the same.

"Parrots climbing stairs? So what?" you might say. But watching the little parrotlet "climb" is the best part, trust me.

The video of the parrots climbing the stairs was very sweet. I really admire the perseverance of those little feathered miracles! However, one thing that I find VERY disturbing is the open lid to the toilet at the bottom of the stairs. Birds can flutter in there and drown, especially when descending those stairs as shown in the video.

I had a Nanday that I had taught to return to his cage on command. So, after we moved into a new house I thought nothing of sending Sam back to his cage. However, I quickly realized my mistake and ran to the stairs to see Sam dutifully climbing down one step at a time. When he arrived at his cage, he climbed up the stand and in the door. I would have to close the door and reopen it before Sam would come out again. He was the best!

Cute video, but the open bathroom door at the foot of the steps and the toilet seat up is begging for a drowning. Not good.
