Definitions of words used by pet bird enthusiasts with the pet bird slant.

keel-billed toucans
The term "exotic birds" is still often used by the government.

Exotic birds: (noun) Birds from another part of the world. Often used in the United States in regard to parrots. This term is not as commonly used today as in the past couple of decades, probably due to Americans being more used to parrots and no longer considering them “exotic.”
