 Once again, I was shopping at the bird store...Tiki was standing on a play stand grumbling. The store owner said he was having a rough time. He was previously owned by a lady with 27 birds who decided she couldn't afford to feed them anymore. She brought Tiki in to the store to trade him for food!!! He had been there for a couple of weeks and just grumbled at everybody. I walked up to him and talked to him and he hopped right on my finger. He rode around on my shoulder as I shopped, preening himself the whole time. The store owner said he had not done that with anyone else since he had been there. That's all I needed to know. Tiki was mine! And certainly "meant to be!". |

I hope you are having a wonderful day. I've got the gardeners here to watch. They are outside my window mowing the lawns! Pretty soon Mandy will be woofing to go out just because she likes to smell the fresh cut grass! Mom takes her for a walk everyday and Mandy has decided she likes to walk down to the Starbucks. Do you suppose it's the scones they sell? I always share my scones with her so maybe she figured she just go down there and get us some! I like the way she thinks!!
Mom already went to the market before I even got up! The store is open 24 hours a day. It's less crowded early in the mornings but mom has to put up with freight on the floor and the floor scrubber being used. Since she works nights at a store, she is use to that stuff.
She got me some pecans so I'm looking forward to my snack! I'll be having apples and pecans today! Yum!
I'll be supervising the chores later on and letting mom know how she should do stuff! We all know our parronts would be lost without us!!

I hope all is well with you and the family. Nothing exciting to report from here. We have had a few days of really nice weather so I have been enjoying sitting by the window and enjoying the sun. This morning I saw a firetruck pull in our complex but it was just passing thru. No siren so I guess everything was okay. It was still fun to see it!!

How are you doing? I hope everything is going great out there.
We are back to cool and wet which has caused avalanches in the mountains. They say it happened because we got a few warm days and then got cold again.
I'm just haning out in the play cage today. I've had my snack and now I have a new toy tht needs my attention. Mom cleaned out the cage before I even got up. She is pretty sneaky!! Now I'm going to have to spend the day getting it fixed up again!! OH! A birds work is never done!!

I hope everything is going well for you and your family. I have been having some sunshine today but it's still cool. We have had to put the fireplace on in the morning to warm my tail feathers up!
Mom has started the spring cleaning. I have been enjoying seeing all the stuff that is in the drawers and closets around here. Nothing I would want to play with but is has been fun to look at everything. There is really too much junk around here!

I hope all is well with you! I hope things are getting back to normal in your hometown. I suppose it's going to take a while. Mom hear and interview with FEMA this morning and they don't seem to know what is going to happen yet.
Mom has tonight off instead of Thrusday. Her store is doing lots and lots of ads so she and the lady she works with are taking turns working on Thursday nights to set the ad for the Friday and Saturday sales.
We saw where the people in a small town in New Hampshire are getting ready to be the first to vote. I hate to tell them this but mom, brother and voted 2 weeks ago! Our entire county is mail-in votes! I'm gonna miss all that junk mail that I get to rip up but the commercials were really boring and I won't miss them! I have the urge to sign all my blogs as approved by Sugar!hahahahahahaha
It's suppose to get cooler by the weekend but I got my heavy cage cover out, so I'm ready! I have been dealing with the time change pretty well but Merlin and Mandy are having a hard time waiting to eat. Mom says we will all get use to it very soon.

I hope the day is going great! I wanted to get around to say hello to everybird yesterday but the squawk-a-tiels had other plans! Nasty things! I suppose it's important for the BC to get stuff done so the site keeps running! It would be awful not to be able to come by and say hello.
We are planning a day of cleaning so I'll be supervising! We made an apple pie yesterday so I got a taste of that! It is yummy! I really do love apples.
We are going to get some cooking done tomorrow since mom has to go back to work tomorrow night. It's only for 2 days and then it will be the weekend again. She can handle it.
Enjoy the day! I hope it's a fabulous one! Mom is going by the library later so I'll have some new books to read!! That is always lots of fun!!

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today it didn't clear up in the afternoon but it's not really raining. Sort of misty. It's been a nice summer but I'm glad autumn is here. It's our favorite time of year! Mom is going to get out the little pumpkins she puts on the mantel laters. I love seeing them! It hasn't been cold enough to have to use the fireplace but it looks so pretty when it's on and all the decorations sparkle!
Mom had to take dad to get a test done today. It's just part of his physical and he is just fine. I got stuck in solitary! Brother and sister came in to check on me but I really wanted mom home so I could get out of the night cage! When she got home we had lunch and I got my fruit bowl. I was so happy!! We still have lots of chores to get done but mom was on the phone with her aunt for a long time so we haven't gotten anything done. Mom says the chores will still be there later! Right now I just wanted to get some notes out so my friends know I'm thinking about them!
Mom and I hope you mom is doing well. We hope she is pain free. Remember that you and her are in our prayers everyday! We think about you all the time and wish only the best for you both!

here goes the canary with a Santa hat!!!We know it's a bit early for Christmas themed pics, but mum just wants to show you the idea she had! She's going to make a lot of Santa hats & everyone who orders a bird from now on, will get one for free, also people at the market will get one when they buy a pal! What do you think of that idea? Mum wants to remind you that if you decide to get a pal for Christmas, now is the time to order. The post office has a date line for Christmas mail, so better be early than late! The 2 new tiels are for a girl in Germany & mum send them off today!

I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday! It's cooking day around here as usual. Some kind of italian beef in the crockpot. I helped mom measure out all the herbs and chop the veggies! Then I decded it was time to have my fruit bowl, so I'm taking a break.
The gardeners are here today instead of yesterday! I think they were trying to confuse me but since it's cooking day, I know it's Saturday! HA It didn't work and now I am ready to sit by the window and yell at those noisy guys! It takes then all day to do my complex cause it's so huge, so I'll have plenty of time to let them know that Sugar is in charge around here!hahahahahahaha
I hope mom is dong just great and I hope she is not trying to do too much and taking good care of herself! Remember she is always in our prayers!! Every single day!

new pics are up! A new penguin, a new kookaburra, a new lorikeet, two owls with glasses on & a flock of budgies.
Still warm & windy here, but mum managed to go for a long walk today. There are a few small bush fires in the areas where there are forests & bush, but we're safe, as we live in suburbia & are surrounded by concrete, not bush!
Mum loves riding her bike even more now that it is nice & clean, hehehehe!
I have been a very good boy today, so mum told me. I was talkng a lot & playing a lot, almost no screaming!

How's mom doing? We were glad to stop by Angel Buddy's page. Mom's picnic at the museum was moved indoors yesterday because it kept looking like rain. It never did, but the museum staff had their picnic in the music hall foyer, a grand lobby with marble and gilt walls! What an elegant setting for hot dogs, eh?
Mom signed up for a month's membership at a local gym which has an outdoor pool. She's trying to extend summer as long as possible, I think. Anyway if she likes it, she may swim there in the fall, too.
Today was another day of small rooms at the center, the bunny room and the mammal nursery. That means no big fan, although there is now a small one in the mammal room, which helps. The cutest ones in the nurseries today were a tiny field mouse and a baby chipmunk! Hope you are having a great day! I am so sorry to hear that your mom's show schedule is so hectic and that she has such a hard time walking. Things just have to get better for her. No much new here my mom is still looking for a job and is so frustrated and worried because she just can not get hired by any company. She thinks it is her age. She will be 57 and all the companies she has applied to want younger people. Please tell your mom and dad to take care.

look at the new pics of the photo shoot with the pals at the beach today! That's only mum's pics, but there's heaps more & nicer ones to come
Mum went with Sandi, my vet's nurse, she's a real good photographer, but it'll be a few days till mum gets her pics. It was a real nice day for it too, nice & sunny & warm.
The first pic is of a flock of black cockatoos flying over head! It's really hard to get a good pic of that, but better than nothing!
Mum really want to forget about that mess with Glenda now & carry on as usual.
