 My niece has a guinea pig. Her parents' landlady doesn't allow pets at their apartment. When their landlady found out, she didn't like it, but allowed her to keep it on the condition that keep up after it. She wanted a bird, because I also have a Quaker Parrot and my niece is so fascinated by birds. We went to a local pet shop and happen to see the birds in the bird aviary and we settled on a budgie and it was love at first sight. Even though he's my niece's bird, I am technically the owner, because she cannot be allowed to have more pets at her home.
Footnote: Lattie went over the rainbow bridge on 7/25/2009 at about 4:20 p.m. In his place will be Lattie II, also known as Lattie Jr.
Lattie II bears a strong resemblance to Lattie, so it will not be a total loss. Lattie will be looking out for Lattie II.

Thank you so very much for remembering and honoring my Sunny on her Memorial Day. There are no words, in any language that can properly express how I feel, right now. Your outpouring of love to my Sunny goes far beyond words. Your unselfish kindness goes directly to my heart and does help to ease the pain of losing her, one year ago.
I am humbled by your kind and loving words, left on Sunny's page, as well as on my other bird's pages and personal emails.

I appreciate your input because the bird that nominated me has flown the co-op, sort of. I have no idea about this stuff so I decided to ask for help to understand when I should start to campaign etc. I figured later in the year too. THANKS and her's a vote for you.

Part 1 from Zak
THANK YOU EVERYBIRDY FOR BOTD… and Mom says thank you for all the hatch uh… birthday wishes. We woke up the other day to no phone and no internet and now, we still have no phone but the internet is working because Mom is lucky to have a friend who lives behind us and the wires are running from there. It works for her and she is happy. Mom took me back to the vet on Friday but we did not have an appointment. It was a surprise for him since he is leaving the clinic. Mom got him a gift to thank him for all he has done for me and TiPaul and the others. Two of the ladies there knew we were coming in and when we got there one of the others said to Mom that we are not in the computer, and Mom said she knows, but this is the lady who is never wrong and Mom chuckled. Anyhow the vet came out and saw Mom and asked why we were here, because he had not seen our names on file. Mom picked up my carrier and said she would like a few moments with him, so we went into the office. She let me out of my carrier and she gave him his gift while I was up on his shoulder. I gave him a gift too… a bit of a messy one. I pooped down his back. He had to change his lab coat. LOL He looked at my foot and said it is healing wonderfully, and told Mom to continue whatever she is doing with all of us. Part 2 from Zak
Mom went out on Saturday with Dad, to a country line dance Christmas party. Mom said they had a fantastic meal, and Mom danced all night long. She also won a lovely prize. They came home after 2AM, and we had a little upset. Something woke up most of us in the flock and mom had all the lights on and could not figure out what it was. She gave up trying and left two night lights on and went to sleep. The next morning, after giving us breakfast, she was on her way downstairs to get all the paperwork for the bird that came back to her, the one who people were coming to visit that day, and what she saw on the stairs on the way down answered her question about what freaked us out. She nearly jumped a mile… there, trying hard to get downstairs was a little field mouse… obviously a handicapped one. Well, Mom ran to the kitchen and grabbed a big, and I do mean BIG glass, and ran down the stairs, and at this point the mouse was down all the way but not moving as fast as a mouse normally would. Mom got the thing cornered and got the glass on top of it real fast and then grabbed something to put on top of it while she found a thick piece of cardboard to slip under the glass. Only mom could do this, but she carefully carried the glass and mouse upstairs and outside to the park area outside out home, a good distance from the house, and then let it go. Mom came tearing back into the house because she was cold – she did not take the time to put on a coat and it is below freezing outside here. Mom and Dad worked hard on scrubbing all our cages because Sunday is always a big cleaning day. They worked nonstop until the couple came to see the Grey who had come back here about a month ago. They loved him, and he liked them, but mom was sad because he kept looking at her, as if to ask her why they were playing with him, why they were there, and Mom tried hard to explain to him that he will be going with him to a new home, but it is so hard because he had gone once before. It will take him time to understand but mom trusts the couple – they were very nice and they have 2 other smaller birds, and he will be special to them. Mom said she could tell. They came from far to meet and get him. This is all the news for now. Because of the bad lines, we are using the copy and paste method but dividing into 2 blogs. A lot of reading for you. Thanks again for everything… Happy Holidays, in case we don’t get to blog you before then. There is a long story associated with George, the Tiger and me riding him. If you read the story on my page, it tells more. i had a toe amputated when I was BOTM last month and could not get around, and well...
