 The animal hospital near me asked me if I would take him in. He was at the hospital because his eye was infected (His eye was later removed). His owner couldn't cope with him. He screamed all the time, insisted on being constantly out of his cage and destroyed everything he could get his beak on. I visited him a few times in the animal hospital and played with him. I got in contact with his owner and offered to take him, if she felt he was too much for her. Her partner had a heart attack a few months later and she asked me to take Coco home with me. She brings him boxes stuffed full of things to shred from time to time.. |

I'm sorry for the loss of your flock friend, but one of the things that endeared your mom and flock to us, was her huge heart, and giving homes to all you beautiful parrots that may well have wound up on the scrap heap, or worse! How's things with our Swiss friends, the weather is getting warm here and all the flowers are starting to pop out of the ground. Hello Coco
My dearest friends sent me over to say hello, that would be Jenny and Christine. They and their Dad are into making parrot toys, and if you are ever lucky enough to receive one of their special toys you have arrived, that being friends of two of the coolest ladies on the channel..It's really nice to meet another Cockatoo, I'm an Umbrella Cockatoo and my name is Romeo. I've been on BC about a year now and let me tell you it's a blast meeting and hanging out with all my friends. We have birdie parties, contest and best of all we sometimes allow our parronts to get to know each other via email when and if you ever get comfortable enough to share that with someone you trust. I wasn't gonn tell you this but I have a sister, her name is CocoPuff, she's a 3 yr old Senegal, she's a bit of a CocoNut if you will, and we have three cockatiels that live here also, We call them Smokey and the Bandits (ButterCup and Sunny), it's just us birdies and Mom. I am so pleased you came to my page to visit with me! I read your bittersweet story and it brought tears to my eyes, I was saddened for your previous owners inability to care for you properly, but praise them for relinquising ownership so that you might have a wonderful new life with your new loving family! I am very happy that you have such a great mom that loves you no matter what, my dad rescued me and has vowed that for as long as he's alive, nothing or nobody will ever hurt me again, and he's kept his promise fo fourteen years now, and at 28 years old, you are still young and have at 40 plus quality years of life left, sit back and enjoy the ride you handsome dude, you still have one good eye, look around you and see the beautiful world you live in, and praise the Lord for what is on your plate, don't curse for what isn't ! Today for example, I am thankful for my new Swiss friend Coco, I am very pleased to meet you! BTW, most of the costumes you see were enhanced by Jenny's dear friend Maxie for a party we had just recently, and are now judging the best two, her mom has a special computer program that makes us anything we want to be, she is a Double Yellow-Head Amazon and I think she is already on Caesar's page if you should want to click on it and say hi, she is a real nice bird! I find fabulous the wrapped up box idea as a toy, I will do the same for my flock today as a matter of fact, great idea.
And it is absolutely wonderful for people like you that are willing to provide a forever home to such gems. Well too many people purchase on the spur of the moment, and emotionally, without sitting and considering the involvement of the species and the lifelong committement, sadly enough it is always the little guy that pays the price....
