 Mom needed a haircut. (I’ll say!) “Mother” (my first mom) had just gotten her hair cut. Marianna, the stylist, played matchmaker! VOILA! Our prayers were answered. ~~ I had lived with Mother and PopPop since I was a youngster. Then, they built a new house and the space they had planned for me disappeared because they needed a water heater. (Imagine THAT!) So, I ended up living in the basement with the dogs, and didn’t get to see Mother nearly as often as before. She felt really bad about it and decided that the best thing for me would be to find me a family that could continue to give me the attention I had been used to, needed, and…yes…DEMANDE- D. ~~ Enter my new mom and pop, and about 5 other birds, and 10 cats!!! Yes, I am the newest member of the infamous BirdChannel “K Kritter Korral!” founded by my fister Rosalie Hale Bopp, who is now at the Rainbow Bridge. ~~ I seem to have developed a rather unpleasant habit of screaming and biting in the mean time. As a matter of fact, Mother got to be just the least little bit afraid of me…and I KNEW it! Then along comes this new mom that was picked out for me, and guess what?! I can’t get away with that stuff much any more! (I think she must be part bird!!!) I can pretty much ‘talk’ my new pop into just about anything, though. So I think I’ll try to hang out with him as much as possible! ~~ But I think I’m going to like it here. I have two other Macaw fiblings, and then there are the cats and three other smaller birds too. And Mom and Pop already had a who-o-ole bunch of new toys hanging in my cage before I even set foot in it. And I may already be getting tired of all the company! ~~ Both Mother and Mom agree: God had His hand in this match. THANK YOU God!!!. |

 Well, there’s the obvious…INDY of course! Actually Mother called me ‘Indigo Blue’. But Mom seems to have a rule about everybirdy having three names in this flockily; hence the long moniker. Other than that, Mom seems to think I’m a ‘Cutie Pie’. (But I don’t let her call me that to my beak!) Oh yeah, and recently she’s taken to calling me IndyBindyBird!

‘Crackers’ means “any treat you have that I want”. I L-O-V-E CRACKERS! Oh, and Stitch’s Spicy Popcorn ain’t bad either.
 On top of my cage or on my playstand looking over Pop’s shoulder while he plays games on his computer. (That is, of course, until they give me the run of the house!)
 When Mom closes the blinds at bedtime. ~ Going back into my cage…ANY time. ~ Time outs. (Don’t know why, but I seem to get a LOT of them.) ~ Mom and Dad carrying BIG things by my cage. ~~ Gimme a minute, I’ll come up with a few more!
 If Mom let me get away with being as ornery as I pretend to be, I STILL wouldn’t be getting the love and attention that I had been missing so much. Instead, she picks me up by both feet if she has to (EVEN when I go to bite her). Then we sit together for a while and she gives me scritches and kisses and all kinds of attention. ~~ Pop has the word ‘SOFTEE’ stamped on his forehead. (Yeah, I can read!) I can get him to share his ‘Crackers’ with me EVERY TIME.
 like resting my head on its top…when I’m standing up! ~ Trying to make Mom think I’M Top Bird. ~ Mom’s not allowed to so much as LOOK at the other birds. So I have to SCREAM at her and make stop whenever she does! ~ The first time I tried this one, Mom ignored me because she knew what I was doing. Then I tried it on Pop: Pop was taking a nap one day and when he woke up he rolled over toward me. In my very clearest, most intelligible voice I told him “Bye Bye!” He LAUGHED at me and said “Nope, Indy my boy, this is MY house. And if anybirdy is leaving it’s NOT going to be me!” ~~~~ DARN ! ! !.
 I’m not afraid of ANYthing…that I KNOW of!.

Looks like you had quite the adventure yesterday in honor of your 22nd hatchday. I didn't know you had experience in directing a band. You are one talented macaw, aren't you. I have to ask, what'd you do with the sheet music that was on that stand? Shred it? I know if I'd been perched where you were, I'd couldn't have resisted the temptation to at least crease the corners of the paper. And likely the corners of the stand too. Dude, that's wood you're perched on; Opportunity Awaits!!
I hope whatever you put your beak to today, it tastes good and leaves a satisfying feeling in your soul.
