 I was interested in Senegal parrots and when I read about Jardine's I fell in love. I went to a bird show and saw one in person for the first time. I had to have one. I was amazed when I found a Jardine's Parrot on craigslist a few months later, actually there were two posted at the same time. I went to meet the first bird named Beep Beep. He was locked in his cage in the corner of the room ringing exactly like a cell phone. "I just changed my ring tone a week ago, he already knows it." He was sitting on the perch attached to the door of his cage begging to come out. I opened his cage and gave him lots of skritches. He loved me! And then my husband tried to pick him up, CHOMP! "beep beep" is not too fond of men apparently, but the two of them get along well now. Because I didn't even go look at the other bird I took home the ringing bird and named him Oliver, a proper name. Now he spends most of his time outside of his cage and rings for happiness.. |
