 When my owner's friend comes to visit every other weekend. I don't like her to get too close to me to try to touch my tail. When she tries, I attempt to bite her.
 He loves me very much and I love him very much. We have been through a lot together.
 Walking around and following my owner around, splashing water when my owner has the t.v. on the horse racing channel and playing with coffee cup lids and paper towel cardboards..

Wow! What An Opening Game Yesterday!! It Was So
...greyt! I'm just coming by to remind you of our 1st Game of the season against the mighty Quaker Little Dragons. Don't be fooled by their size or cuteness! They're called 'dragons' for good reasons beside their breath! They are super tough & quick as lightening! But we've been training & working so hard for this day! What A Greyt Job You're Doing At
...practice! You've really got right field covered! Just wanted to let you know your hard work has already been noticed & noted! I thought we'd slip another practice in tomorrow. That's Friday, May 3rd.
I'm going to also be having a BBQ Sunday for all the teams. It will be a nice way to be ALL friends before we buckle down & get all serious in playing baseball. The whirlpool will also be opened for use for anybirdy and also, it might just be a lot of fun to play a game of ball that's just "play". There's swings out there, too, near the BBQ area. Hopefully, it will help remind ourselves this is for "fun" and that we're all friends with each other.
The Scruffy Birds will be there, of course, because that's where they all live!! So, there will be music & dancin' if any birds want to do that instead of a game of baseball! Hahaha!

....have you on our team no matter what you look like! You know, it took YEARS for Mom to own a real picture of me. Most of mine were pictures looking down my throat! Close ups of my beak and eye. So, we understand sometimes parronts just have to snap a pic very suddenly & not worry with the specifics of lighting, is that they're BEST side, etc. OUR team is LUCKY's team and we're solidly backing whatever you wish to do. I remember you from way back. So what if you pluck your feathers. I do too - and I mutilate some of them, and from what I can see from your pictures, you have a tail. Well, I decided I don't need mine and I mutilate that too when I have done enough with the feathers. I am glad we are on the same team my friend. Hi Ya Lucky! How's Your Saturday Going?
I'm just coming by to let you know, I've been trying to post the Practice Schedule for next week but the crazy BC won't let me put it in the "How we met" section. So, it is "PRACTICE", I thought it was fitting for it to be put under "quirky habits" section. If you go to the Team Page, you'll see it to the right. It's only every other day and I'm giving the weekends off since many birds & parronts do their cleaning and errands on those weekend days. Under each day you will find what we're suppose to practice for the day. All you have to do is go to the Team Page and practice like we're at Kevlar Field. ONLY for practice do we do that. You don't have to be there with all the other team mates at the same time. For some birds that is impossible, so just blog a little bit or two about practice and you're good to go.

How about that; our team page has won the BOTD Trophy! What a greyt start to the season. I wholeheartedly agree with all the things Coach Sam said about who the Silver Sluggers are and who they want to be to their teammates, opponents and friends. I'm darn proud to be a part of this team!
How's things with you Lucky? And how's your skin Aunt doing? I so hope she's feeling better and that you're not as worried about her. But I know we always sort of worry about the ones we love. We just can't help it.

Hello Lucky! Thanks For The Digits!
Yeah, the water bottle and me, we are now bitter enemies. I used to absolutely LOVE being misted UNTIL!!! Yeah, until my first owner's new wife decided she should squirt me constantly to make me stop calling to them. They shut me up in a room by myself with a tv to bird-sit me. I was left like that for about a year!! My Mom now, she warned them that could have some bad consequences for me treating me so terribly! I'm a flock animal! How could they be so cruel! Wouldn't a dog bark? Yes! Would a cat? After a while, it would wondering where everybody was!! Anyway, once I came to live with my "now" Mom, she found out the hard way how traumatized I was with being misted. Mom has a "mister" not a full fledge squirt bottle. Wife didn't like me, so here I am, forever jaded by the one experience I really enjoyed doing. Now, I take a bath in a very large ceramic dog dish. Yeah, I can't help myself & I like to dump over any water container that just about isn't nailed to...whatever. It just better not be able to move. This dish was used for a St. Bernard so actually, about 3 of us TAGs could fit in it! Maybe 6 if we were just trying to stuff the bowl. hahaha! Have a good weekend, Lucky! Hugs to all, SamIAm

Lucky Bird!! Good To See You!
Hi, all you Silver Sluggers! Hope your days are growing warmer & sunnier where you live. I'm afraid my area hasn't made up its mind what it wants to do! We'll take what we get, I guess!
I have some homework to ask of you. I will be needing 15 numbers for you to select. You may pick any from numbers 1 through 12. You may also use any number more than once and not all numbers have to be used. It will be up to you! They don't have to be numerically in order either! So, I know this may be perplexing for any of you that have never played before but don't worry. "There is a method for the madness," as Sparky Anderson would say! He's this famous coach of baseball. Anyway, your numbers are needed before we will be able to play ANY baseball at all! So, think of your favorite numbers & get them back to me as quick as you can! It's Saber! Okay, you may know me as "Sheba" but a lot has changed, including my name. This is what happens when the humans finally figure out what I've known all along - that I'm a guy, not a gal. Anyway, for BC purposes, it's Saber from here on out.
I'm flying around tonight doing a little meet-n-greet with fellow SILVER SLUGGER teammates. It's greyt that you're one of them! I'm so looking forward to another season of baseball especially since it's the one thing that guarantees me some blogging time, like tonight. How have you been? What's been happening in your life? How's your dad? And your friend's Aunt, how is she doing? Sure hope whatever is happening is resolving itself and things look hopeful for her again.

Thanks for agreeing to play Birdy Bazebol this coming season! I am very glad that we are going to be playing with one another. At this time, I am waiting for some others who have been asked but as yet haven't given me an answer. I am giving them time to mull it over! The baseball season is going to be shorter this year and won't be starting until Spring.

How are you this fine Sunday in January? I hope you & your family are well.
Are you feeling a bit bored and gloomy from all these winter days? Wish you had something to look forward to? May I please make a suggestion?
Why not come & be a PART of something unique! Something quite fun and one you could be rooting for? Why, I am the Coach of well....the name hasn't been approved just yet...but the Silver Sluggers and we would be so honored to have you play baseball with us!
I will not sugar coat it. It will be grueling. It takes discipline and being there for practices and games. Fear not if your parront is working, simply log onto the Kevlar Stadium's page early morning of the game saying that you are there, doing whatever. Or that you're at my page reporting for practice. You could be warming up, chatting with teammates, putting on your uniform, that sort of preliminary stuff that happens before baseball games &/or practices. If that's it, that early morning blog saying you're there, then that's enough! But believe me, if you can be there while the game gets posted it is a HOOT!! And, no, the Commish is not a owl.
There are others from the BC present, rooting for their favorites, cheering, sometimes an all out soap opera happens in the stands! Sometimes they should just go ahead and get a NEST if you understand my meaning!! Those frisky love-birds!!
Anyway, it has come to my attention that you would be an excellent ball player and I would be so honored if you join my team, The Silver Sluggers. If ball playing isn't your cup of tea, how about being a cheerleader? The team needs to feel like there are birds having their backs and cheering them on to success! That is an important aspect and you would surely be welcomed!
But if you love the crack of the bat, the roar of a crowd, this will be a good place for you to be a part of something exciting. Let me know, Coach SamIAm #185466. It will be an honor to play ball with you!

Hello Lucky.
Yeah, Patriot was named because he was found on the Fourth of July and he is blue, so that is how that name came about, but Hiccup has a longer story.
He wasn't originally going to be moms bird, she was just asked to name him. She used to really like the movie "How to Train Your Dragon" so she thought that Hiccup would be a cute name for him. Later she decided that she would like to try having a bird for a pet (and she used to be terrified of birds, so she thought it would help her get over her fear) so she adopted him.
When Patriot was found, he had no tail feathers and a broken leg. Mom took him in and nursed him back to health. He was also badly malnourished. When his leg didn't seem to be healing, they almost had it amputated so that it wouldn't get caught on anything and torn off, but they decided not to amputate it. Then his other leg broke after the first one finally healed and they had to get that one fixed as well. He finally healed and they got some medication that helped him to get better, so that was good.
Don't worry, that was just how we were posing for the picture. Hiccup and Patriot are actually really good friends. We are always hanging out and feeding each other and teasing Alvin together. We even taught each other how to be half trained. Hiccup taught Patriot how to be trained, and Patriot taught Hiccup how to not be trained, so now we are both kind of in the middle. :)

No chat? What's up? Is everything ok? I miss talking to you. We here in Ontario are enjoying the warmth, sun and splendor of Spring. I had a part of my beak chip off. Now, back to the vet I go. Still talking about the wing. Won't know until the weekend I guess.

Hey Buddy
Well, it was a frustrating day today. The server had us off-line until now. My beak is being worked on little by little. The rescue center used to trim the end but let the rest over-grow. It'll be great soon and I will post a new photo of me with my new look.
The wing is another story. It will take a lot of work to repair it so everyone is deciding about it. It doesn't hurt at all, but if I get it fixed I will be able to lift it up hopefully and flap it like other birds.
Do you feather pluck? Lots of Greys do. Angel doesn't and Mom's glad about that.
It was warm and sunny today but tomorrow it is suppose to be quite hot and I can't wait for it. Soon I will be able to go outside with Momma and play and pretend I'm flying. Momma and I have lots of fun running around so I can flap better.
Must get going. Have to get caught up on blogs. BIG HUG and a kiss

Yes, my beak is over grown and I have chipped large amounts off of it. My bottom beak is quite over shot. My Momma takes me to the Vet. It will take many visit to get it back in shape. As for my wing. I was about 6-8 months old. No one is 100% what happened BUT when I arrived at the Parrot rescuer my wing was damaged. Her name was Cindy. Cindy took me to her Vet for a check-up. The Vet felt that it had either a) been broken and never set, or b) my wing ligament was cut, it is called pinioning-an illegal, cruel method where people cut it to stop parrots from ever flying. It used to be quite common in the earlier days of parrots being captured.
My new Momma adopted me last year. My new Vet Dr Chan said it was broken and might be able to be rebroke and set. More exams must be done because if its the ligament there is nothing to do. It doesn't hurt now, and I can lift it up at the shoulder joint.
The Vet said because I have also got injured feet it is likely from a throw. Both feet are damaged. Toes have been broken on one foot, and the wrist on the other plus 3 toes.
I like to tell my story because it could save even one more bird from cruelty.

The reason the rescue didn't try to get it fixed? Most likely because of the extreme cost here in Canada for Vet work. I love her all the same because she took me home and never hurt me again. My new Momma said this is my last home. I lived 8 yrs in the rescue. The only reason I am here; It was felt I needed someone home more, when work started to take Cindy away longer hours.

It snowed!!!! I hate snow. All winter it was grass. It was brown grass but grass all the same. Today? 6-7" of snow and so cold I can feel it inside the house even.
I try to be good too. I love my peanuts and will do anything to get one. My Momma just bought me this abacus toy and I have to learn colors and numbers. That is fun??? But for a peanut I will humor her.
That's cool you are learning from the Tv. I say quite a bit. They figure by counting about 1500 words and sentences.
What can I say, I love the sound of my own voice. My current words are Vroom Vroom. I have a red sports car that I drive, and chew, so I make car noises, beep the horn , beep-beep then lay on the brakes with a rirkkkk sound. It drives them nuts now. hehehe
I better get going my sister is landing at SB and BB2s store opening in a minutes. I don't have the page on me, but if you go to PONCHOs page SB is her boyfriend and the links are there. HI LUCKY. I WAS JUST HOPING THAT JADE DID NOT HAVE A BIRDIE STROKE OR A SEIZURE BUT IF IT IS DUE TO LACK OF CALCIUM, THAT CAN BE EASILY TAKEN CARE OF. I TOO HAVE A PRESCRIPTION FOR CALCIUM SYRUP THAT IS MIXED INTO MY DRINKING WATER. I ALSO STILL WILL GET A CALCIUM SHOT EVERY SO OFTEN IF NEEDED. Hi Lucky,
finally i'm back again. It was dad's b'day on Tuesday & mum was very busy with cooking & having the kids over for dinner. She was too tired to take my dictations after all that, but she's alright now.
It's wet & o'cast here & not hot anymore, but that will change very very soon & we'll be back to the heat!
Mum's been swimming every day so far, but gave it a miss today, b/c the water got too cold again!

alright, here we go...some new pics & they're all of Strasbourg, the wonderful city just across the border from Germany to France! Mum, dad & skin sis did a trip in a coach there one day & had a fab time.
The first 4 pics are all of the absolutely magnificent cathedral. It's truly hard to get a decent picture of that monster. The next 2 pics are just a bit of detail on the building. They went inside too, but the pics are no good.
It was very imposing, to say the least!
#7 is the famous Bollinger house, #8 is a pic of the mini train, they took to do a city sight seeing tour with!
It was a very squeaky old thing, very small & very humid in it! #9 is a pic of a very old fashioned carousel, like the had in the olden days, but it's still working!
#10 & 11 are just pics of the city! It's very very historic there!
Yeah, i always say "bad bad bad boy when i see something i don't like or i am scared off. The 2 guys didn't pay any attention to me though! Fridge is working great!
Hope you enjoy the pic & btw, the 2 videos are up too now. They're called: "African Grey in Germany" & "Amazon getting head scritches" or something like that. You can't miss them!
