Mom met me January 1st when mom came up to thank Debbie, the lady who helped mom thru the vomiting issues with CUDDLES. I was out playing and Mom played with me. Mom was playing with all the other birds. But she came back to me and came up to the pet shop for a couple hours every day to see me and bond with me. I came home for good Jan. 15th..

Active within 185 Days Hi! My name is Gabriella I am a Congo African Grey from Hagerstown, MD. Gabby, Squirt, Baby-girl 4 years old F Congo African Grey cinnamon sticks and anything mom is eating. On the window perch in the dining room, in the bathroom on my suction cup perch with mom, and on the couch with Mom. Don't touch my tail! She spoils me and give me lots of head rubs and scritches and will love me til she croaks. Hanging upside down on her toys and attacking & hollering at them.. NOBODY touches me but MOMMY!.

Aww Shucks Gabby
Aren't you just the sweetest thing, your sweet words put a glow to my cheeks..I'm having cabin fever, begging Mom to 'go outside', I've been grounded since I took my little flight last year into the woods behind our house, but being the smart bird that I am, I survived the hawks, owls, and all the other predators that creep around at night, then I used my above average intelligence to take flight one last time into my Mom's open arms. I think she was so shocked that I'd do that she finally came to realize I'm no average bird, but one that can reason with a situation. Now I'm clipped and grounded until Mom puts an outside aviary in our yard. I constantly plead 'ready go outside' but she won't give in, doesn't she realize we need sunshine on our feathers, although there hasn't been much of that lately, snow has become the abnormal around here and I'm so ready for spring. Thanks for visiting me, I don't get lot's of visitors, Romeo keeps Mom busy with all his friends, but as I get to know more Greys, I'm finding I really do like being on BC..Enjoy your day, and I look forward to your next visit..Big (((hugs))) from Rusty

Thanks for your visit and your prayers. Mommy's pretty behind in responding to my blogs. She spends a lot of time with me and the rest of the birdies here, but especially ME. I'm still wearing two collars, but she decided to give me a little break today so I could preen all my new feathers that are coming in. There's a jillion of them, too! Lot's of work to keep me busy. I'm sitting right here on Mommy's desk while she types so she can watch me like a hawk. Hawk! Hawk! Did I say hawk?! Oooh, that's scary! Maybe she could watch me like a dove or something. V4U. It's been a long time since I've chatted with you, how nice to see you again, you've grown and even prettier than before. Mom says I'm her handsome clown, I do love head scratches, and if I don't get them, I move as close to Moms hands and stick my head by her fingers so she'll scratch me. I know how to get what I want! It usually works to. I'm not aggressive at all with Mom, just a bit bossy with Romeo, he has to understand I'm a Grey and we like having our way, otherwise I'm as sweet as that Romeo thinks he is. IT'S PATHETIC LITTLE LUCY AGAIN
Hi Gabby,
Thank you for your very sweet and caring note. I do so much appreciate hearing from you. I managed to open that wound on my little neck AGAIN, even with my big collar on. So a few of days ago Mommy put that neck wrap that my vet had made me, back on, PLUS my big collar on top of that!! You should just see me...on second thought, I'm glad that you can't. I'm just pathetic! I can barely move my little head, and of course, I'm feeling VERY sorry for myself! Mommy had been letting me have some freedom from my collar during the day, which WAS wonderful! But now she says, "Nothing doing!" till my feathers grow back...which they are doing, and my wound heals again. I feel like a prisoner in my own little body! Please keep praying for me. Your such a beautiful bird, I need to send Rusty over to get a look at you, ha. You and he are the same age, he'll be 2 April 9th..How do you and Cuddle get along, Rusty is sometimes a bit aggressive with me so Mom keeps us pretty much separated. When Mom and I went on our trip to IL to visit uncle Chuck we came back and he had become a bit more aggressive with me, we think that's when Rusty started wanting to take over the top bird spot, maybe he thought I wasn't coming back. Now he sometimes lunges at me when I get close to him. Mom hopes it will revert back to the way it was when we could hang out and play together, we'll have to wait and see..Have a good day pretty Lady Grey, give my love to Cuddles..Romeo

IT'S LITTLE LUCY AGAIN
Hi Gabby,
Thanks for your message and your prayers. My news isn't all that great today. Mommy got me a smaller collar last week, so that I could move around a little easier and get my head inside of dishes, and get up and down my ladder, etc. Well, yesterday morning when I got up, I had chewed a big piece out of the side of my smaller collar and had pulled out a bunch more of my feathers on my chest and neck where I could get to them! Mommy couldn't believe it! I also opened up the wound on my neck again. So she put the big collar back on me. First she cut about a 1/4 inch off all around it. It was so big that I could barely walk and couldn't funtion to do anything else. The collars go from a tiny 4" size to the next, a 6" size. One is too small and the other is a little too big. Also the neck opening is too big, so Mommy has to pad it really well. There is nothing inbetween those two sizes. The first collar that I had was hand-made by our vet, but Mommy couldn't remove it without destroying it. So she bought one with snaps on it and took it to the vet along with me, to show her and ask if it was ok to use it. The vet said that it was fine. I am continuing to take her medicine well.

I spent every waking and unwaking moment with Mommy yesterday. She was so tired in the afternoon that she took a little nap which she hadn't done in months. She put me on her chest and told me we were going to go night-night. At first I putzed around a bit, poking and nibbling at Mommy. She kept giving me kisses and telling me that she was tired and wanted to go night-night and that I had to also. After about 5 minutes or so, I settled down and leaned up against her face and went to sleep. I slept without moving, pressed up against Mommy's lips and chin, for about an hour....I didn't even poop! Even after Mommy woke up, she didn't move, but lay there watching me, waiting for me to wake up. I was sound asleep. Mommy said that it was really precious....that I am such a sweet little bird and am so loving! Thank you all again for all your prayers. Please keep them up and pray, too, for Kiddo's Mom and Dad and for all of our bird families that may be going through struggles that we are not even aware of. About that roll-top desk... if it's made of wood, which I'm sure it likely is, just chew your way through to the computer! Okay, maybe you'd better not. Stunts like that generally get us in trouble and I don't want that happening for you. It'll be my luck that you're one of those little greys who never does anything wrong but I've gone and put an evil thought in your head. I'm full of "bright ideas", trust me! After 18 years, you collect a few.
