I would very much like to welcome you to the BirdChannel. I am `Ü´ Ruby Francesca Begonia, a GRITS GirlBird [GirlBird Raised In The South]. So if there are times you have difficulty understanding my way of speaking, you may blame it on my momma! ~~ I was adopted into my flockily from a store in Charleston, South Carolina where my parronts were living at the time. Momma herself is a Midwesterner and therefore not really qualified to bring me up in the true Southern Belle tradition…but she tries! ~~ My ManBird, My Mr Rio ® (who also has a page here on the BirdChannel), and I have been on a Titanic Adventure for the past couple of weeks, “A Voyage of Love and Romance”. Alfie here again. Glad you came by and said 'Hi'. Trust this past week has been a good one for you in the adjustment process you're going through in your new home. Just like you, I'm learning to try new foods. At first I wanted nothing but my old familiar seed mix but within days I wasn't seeing as much of that in my dish. Instead there were other odd shaped things in there, pellets, dried fruit, popcorn, apple muffins. It really didn't take me long to decide that variety is the spice of life and now I grab up about anything that's dropped in the bowl. My favorites like peanuts and popcorn are now stuffed in various foraging toys which means I have to really work to get at the food, but that's ok, I like the challenge. Hope to hear from you again. Until then, Grin... it makes them wonder what you've been up to! You are just so pretty but are you dancing or is your Mommy dancing when your picture was taken, he,he,he! Can't wait for more pictures!! Please come see me for a visit & a vote for Bird Of The Week. I love visiting all my BBFF's! I have been squealing all week, driving mom & Dad crazy! Louie & I got to go bye-bye in the car today "running errands", Mom said but 1st stop was the birdie Vet. We both got our nails done but I was expecting red polish, too, hmmm? Then we stopped by the dry cleaner to visit the owner cause she loves pets & she has met Louie before but not me and you know this week is all about me!!! Then we headed home for fresh fruit snacks & nuts. Mom had already cleaned our cages so after snacks we all took naps. Now it's BC BOTW time! Have a great fun weekend!! Welcome to the Bird Channel!
Diego, it's good to have another Amazon joining us here on the BC. I've only been here myself since November but I'm lovin' the fun that it is to write to other birds, share a little news, maybe a good idea (or warn about a bad one!). Really like your avatar; well-done! Like you, I haven't gotten into that head-scratchin' thing yet. My new mom tries to sneak a finger up to my forehead but so far I just move away, preferring to hold her finger gently in my beak for now. I think she's happy with that much for now. When I first moved in I didn't want any hands near me. There's hope for the future; maybe you and I will BOTH come to like those famous head scritches so many other birds talk about liking.
