Crackerjack Conures Rule in 2013!
Coach Squeaky visits the stadium to check it all out before the 2013 season begins. Someone has been mowing the field and painting the boundary lines. It is starting to even SMELL like Bazeball!!!!
Squeaks throws a couple of balls straight up into the air and pretends to hear the crack of the bats, the roar of the crowds and the pop of the corn!
It's almost time to play ball!

No birdie base ball this year. I wish my Dad had the time during the summer to run the games. But he cuts grass to buy me food and toys and is gone during the day.
I am going to miss all the good times that was had here last year. Sniff,sniff. Darn ceiling is leaken again. BB

Popeye and Calico take time from their duties
at BC homeland Security to visit Kevlar Stadium, where just a few month back, was alive with birdie baseball fans.
they both walk out onto the field and stand where, just last October, Calico and her team, The Pois, was presented with the World Series Champion trophy. A tear comes to her eyes as she realizes that she will not be playing on this field, this year.
Popeye, too, is sad, for she had enjoyed playing, too.
Together, wing in wing, the two sisters leave the dark, quiet stadium, but hope to return again, soon.

Kirby arrives at Kevlar Stadium....
a place where many a very happy moment was experienced. Looking around, he takes in the stadium grounds before him; the empty stands, the empty flagpoles, the empty fountain, the darken windows of the concession stands, the quietness of this grand park. It's this way every year at this time. But the sad thing is, it's going to stay this way this year. KEVLAR MEMORIAL STADIUM will be remained closed this season.

A smile creeps across Kirby's beak though as he remembers the good times; the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, the thrill of a win, the pain of a loss, the fun of being with teammates and friends. He's thankful for all the memories.

"Thank you, Mr. Tim for hatching this idea of a baseball page. Thanks too to all those that helped make it a reality. I really appreciate all the work that went into this page. Thanks for the good times."

And with that, Kirby removes his cap, bidding KEVLAR MEMORIAL FIELD a fond farewell.

Ô` Dear Birdie Baseball Participants
& Enthusiasts,

We are at the time of the year when we would be considering the beginnings of preparation for the upcoming 2012 Birdie Baseball Season. It is for that reason that I am sending out this communication at this time.

After much prayerful consideration and deep, deep heart searching I have made the decision not to handle the running of the Birdie Baseball League this year. The only thing that has been more difficult for me than reaching this decision, is sharing it with all of you.

I have truly been honored and pleased to pick up the baton and complete the season last year after the passing or our dear friend and Commissioner Tim. You all put your trust in me that the season would see its conclusion, and I was more than happy to be able to do that. But I am not in a position to be able to do it again this year.

I have discussed this decision with Mrs Tim as well and we are in agreement that it is the right thing for me to do. So, without further ado, I bid you all a final thanks and farewell as your BazeBol Kommish.

BB landes her shuttle in left field. The bleachers are empty and there are leaves all over the field. The stadium is quiet but BB can hear all the sounds of the Base Ball seasion. She looks around and sees all the ball teams on the field and smiles a Macaw smile. Lots of good memeries here. BB

Which ever one of you so called umpires, played...
...this game with out me in the stands, has got some splainin' to do! I thought all of you knew by now, not to start a game without me seated in the stands, drinking my beer! I have promised my dad, no more drive-by shootings, no more slashed tires, and no more house burnings, but I will think of a suitable punishment, for the thoughtless guilty party!!! My dad got caught up in a medical situation that I won't bore you with right now, so I had to miss the single most important game of the year! I shall bite one of his fingers off for that, but I'm here now, and I want to congratulate both teams for giving all of us a most entertaining World Series! Sam, Hal, Kaji, Calico and all the rest of you, I just couldn't be any happier, it is a pity the whole thing couldn't have ended in a tie! Hal, my brother Arthur will be bye your page to congratulate you on the MVP award, he won it last year, and is pleased to pass it on to such a class individual as yourself! To RB, Jake, Reba, & Ruby, and to all the rest of my Macaw pals, way to go on an awesome season, I'll be seeing all of you next year, and that's not a threat, more like a promise that the Raider's are alive and well! Great job by the Kommissioner and her staff of legally blind umpires, I for one am going to miss BC Baseball, what a wonderful platform to meet and greet all your friends and keep up with family trivia, I shall miss you all, and I love you all dearly...

Sam realizes.....this is it. The last game with .
his beloved Pois'N Dem. He watches them congratulating each other and the Mighty Macaws. He takes a deep breath and wants to relish this event as it unfurls. He sees the Kommish gatherin' her flock for home. He sees the disappointment on the Macaws' beaks. They've worked hard all season. As the crowd files out...
...and the Kevlar Stadium empties one last time for the season. Rio walks out to the pitcher's mound and slowly does a 360....looking high and low as he turns, taking it all in....it's gonna be a long time 'til the birds of summer are back in this park he thinks. He smiles to himself for the wonderful team he has and a season well played.

He finally snaps out of his trance when he hears Ducky scream "I'm leavin' without you!"

Ah, Sugar
You're the sweetest, ya know. I'm okay, really I am. It's been an amazing season. The team made it all the way to the World Series. No complaints about that. I had a feeling though when the Pois got that first Grand Slam that this was going to be their game, and sure enough, they did it. I'm happy for them.

I'm happy for me too 'cause you're over here huggin' on me again. I'll take 2nd Place any day if this is what I get as the reward! R smiles at his precious friend as he returns her hug.
