  Bath time!!
Hazel loves bath time about 3 times a week. We use her suction cup perch and adjust it under a detachable shower head faucet set at a nice soft constant rate. We keep the water luke warm since her body temperatures is normally much higher than ours. We also make sure that she can get in and out of the water. She spreads her wings and preens. I use the shower head to get her belly and crop area. At the end of the shower she usually falling asleep. We take a shower with he because it is more secure and it demonstrates something for her to mimic. In the beginning I talk her through the entire shower to keep her happy and calm. I have never tried a leaf bath. But, I know she does not like the spritzer bottle or a real bath. Don't give up just take it one step at a time. We let Hazel watch our grey shower first and we let her even just get use to the sound before ever putting her in the water. It takes a lot of patients!!! Besides an actual shower, bath, leaf bathing, and spritzing.... I do not know any other options to try. I hope this helps!!! Good luck!

Come visit me, Hazel & Jovial.

  Sassy abounds
I am glad my girl is not the only sassy one around! What source of vitamin A do you use for your Eclectus? Fiber? I use Go lean cereal with 10g of fiber and no zinc (since they need it for their longer digestive tracts)... As for vit A I go with alot of yellow and orange vegetables. I did not know if you had any other ideas. If you notice, the macaws maxilla (upper beak) is overgrown in his picture and when I took him to the vet they said he needed more vitamin A. I never knew it was associated with over grown beaks! Interesting! Input appreciated!

Come visit me, Hazel & Jovial.

Paradise is a fantastic name for this beautiful bird. she looks so sincere in her picture. The name paradise seems so great for a bird, that's exactly how I feel when I walk into my living room with all my birds, like I'm in paradise and don't even need to leave Ohio to be there. Birds are the greatest, aren't they!!!! From our family to yours.

Come visit me, Corky, LuLu, ANGEL, Arie & ZIGGY.
