Our First Game is Thursday 5/16 @ 3 pm
Crackerjack Conures!!!!!
Listen up! Our first game will be Thursday against the Wonder Wings team! It should be a great game and we're playing against my frother Scion! hehehe! The first pitch goes at 3 pm EST. If you can't be there during the game, try to fly over to the stadium either earlier or later to see what is going on there. This year participation is everything and it will be checked by the officials! I sent out the season calendar with all our games on it yesterday in an email. Let me know if you didn't receive it!

I have two chores for the team!
1. Please blog me your hatch day - so we can be sure to give your the hatch day wishes from the team on your special day.
2. Please fly around and say hi to each CJC team member. We do have some new team members this year and we need to make them welcome! The team roster is on my profile page with everybirds' page number.

Tomorrow is Opening Day - the events begin at 2:30 EST but the first pitch is at 3 pm EST and the White Hawks are playing the Pois. It will be a great game if you have a chance to fly by! See you there! And see you at our first game on Thursday afternoon!

Hi Petrie!
The CJCs will have a baseball practice at Kevlar Stadium #239836 on Saturday at 1 pm CST - that's 2 pm EST! I hope you'll be able to fly over. It's a little short notice but then again, baseball season kickoff is almost upon us - May 6th!
We will also have informal practices at the Stadium next week on Tuesday night at 8 pm EST and on Thursday night at 8 pm EST!
I also have the following workout routine for you to try out at the stadium on your own time!
Five times running around the bases - no flying!
10 sit up at each base, including home
10 jumping jacks at each base, including home
Hop up to the top of the perch stands and back down once
And 5 squats at each base, including home
Feel free to do that workout as many times as you like on the stadium page 239836!
And if anybirdie has any amazing cheers - please let our head cheerleader Kallie know at 195234!
Hope to see you all at the Stadium on Saturday afternoon!

Happy Crackerjack Monday! That is a great portrait of you! I really like it! It looks like we're going to start bazebol in May and we should get our uniform pics (yes, new ones) around April 18th! It looks like on the news that you're getting some snow again! So keep warm up there!

How's things with you Petrie? Able to keep the beak busy enough? Jensen, Zoren and I just finished gutting the inside of yet another cardboard box. I think mom's considering ordering a pallet-sized load of boxes so we'll be sure to have enough. It's our favorite thing to - shred boxes. Do you like to do that?

CJCs - time to get ready for Baseball!
Hi, Fantastic Conure Teammates! Baseball is a barely over a month away. Now, we're past the holidays, Valentine's, the Oscars, so it's time to get a moving and shaking those tailfeathers and get in shape!!!!

Our first task is to meet our infielders! So in the next few days, please fly around and welcome our infield to the CJCs. Many are oldtimes but there is a new feathered face here and there! Feel free to toss some balls around - let's get some CJC heat going!

Well, I'm still looking for reserve players and one cheerleader. I'd love it if you would be a reserve player for the team! When I played reserve, I still played every game! What do you squawk????? Let me know, I'll need your numbers if you play reserve! I sure hope so!
That owl was found by the police and may have been hit by a car. We took him to the wildlife vet here and she had to amputate his wing as it was broken in 6 places. He is now eating and doing well and is totally healed. The vet will find him a good place since he can't return to the wild. He is a great horned owl.

Well, Coach Kirby isn't coaching the CJCs this upcoming season. He was retiring entirely but now, with a little coercion, he agreed to be our catcher again. So I am taking over coaching the team! As you know, our CJCs are extremely popular and we had a huge response to join the team as well as most of the original members want to play. I'm sorry that I already filled your old spot but if you would like to play as a reserve or be an official cheerleader, that would be GREAT!!!! When I played as a reserve, I played as much as the regular players so if you don't mind that, it would be super. Also I am still looking for cheerleaders. So it is up to you! I definitely want you on the team! If you decide to be in the reserves, I will need your numbers, phone number and email address. For the numbers, it is 15 randomly picked numbers from 1-12 and you can repeat numbers. Please send that info to my mom's email at nubinskis@aol.com.
So glad you want to play again - Kirby and I were wondering! Have a wonderful weekend!

I am SO embarrassed! I managed to skip you yesterday when I was out and about with the baseball memo. How I did that, I have no idea. I opened up all the team's pages and set to work delivering my note, but somehow didn't get one pasted on your page. I'm really sorry about that. Here's a copy of that announcement;

Kirby here! While we're heading into the joyful season of celebrating a very special birth, I want to take the time to touch base with all our former CJC baseball team members and find out who might be interested in being a part of the team in the 2013 season. The Commissioner's Office opens on the 2nd of January I believe and I want to be as ready as possible when that day comes. Although we're donning coats, hats and mittens right now, those warm spring breezes will eventually come cruising through and it'll be time for baseball caps and short-sleeved t-shirts again. To reserve a spot on the CRACKERJACK CONURE team, drop me a confirmation note, and then get back to enjoying the Joy of the Christmas season.

So, here’s what we got. Last year’s Officiatin’ Staff o’ The Birdie BazeBol League’ve been mullin’ it over an’ they’ve come up with a Jim Dandy idea to help stave off the cravin’s that some o’ you Birdie BazeBol Players an’ Fans’ve been sufferin’ from, ‘cause o’ the lack o’ playin’ this Season.

They’ve all put their heads t’gether to give us a one-time opportunity t’ play ourselves a little BazeBol THIS summer! YuP! YaHooooo!! We’re goin’ back t’ Th’ Stadium!!! The 2012 All*Star Birdie BazeBol game’ll be played at KEVLAR Memorial Stadium th’ afternoon o’ Saturday, August 18th. Th’ plan is t’ play BazeBol startin’ at 3:00 pm CENTRAL TIME, an’ then party that night at the same time we always party for Th’ Milonga! (Translation for th’ Time Zone Challenged: 4:00 pm Eastern, 2:00 pm Mountain, 1:00 pm Pacific.That’s for the BazeBol Game now!)

So, I’m here right now t’ fill y’uns in on all th’ What-Not’s an’ Why-For’s of how this thing is gonna work. So tuck yer feathers b’hind yer ear holes and listen up ….

Th’ first thing that has t’ happen is CHOOSIN’ TEAMS.

Here’s how that’s gonna work. See this here hat I got in my wing? Well, right over there on that table is a bunch o’ scraps o’ paper for y’all t’ write your names on an put in th’ hat.

BUT THERE’s A CATCH!

There’s only ONE birdie PER FLOCK allowed to put their name in th’ hat ! ! ! I know. I KNOW! But there’s only 12 positions available on two teams so we gotta make it so’s as many flocks get a chance t’ play as possible, an’ this was the fairest way the Umps could think of.

So … Two teams; twelve players each (10 reg’lar positions an’ 2 reserves). One team’s gonna be ALL GIRL~BIRDS and one team’s gonna be ALL BOY~BIRDS!

We’re gonna keep the “HAT” out ‘til July 15. Then those Umps’ll pick the players for each team out o’ the hat … lottery style. An’ th’ positions’ll be assigned th’ same way too … lottery style.

You can bring all your little pieces o’ paper with your names writ on ‘em t’ my page so’s Th’ Kommish don’t miss any of ‘em. Bring ‘em t’ MY PAGE (#66865). DON’T leave your name on Th’ Milonga Page ‘r Th’ Kidder’s page ‘r RanePlayer’s page, an’ NOT on Th’ BazeBol Page ‘cause it might get missed! Them ol’ soft hearted Umps decided it would be nice t’ honor th’ most recent Rainbow Bridge Departees in namin’ the teams for this here All*Star Game, just like they honored ‘em at th’ Milonga that night. SO … The GIRL~BIRDS’ team is gonna be called “Th’ Angel Wings” an’ th’ BOY~BIRDS team is gonna be known as “Berts at Bat”. Got a nice ring to it, don’t it?

Th’ Team Line-Ups’ll be announced at th’ next Milonga, July 21st.
