My cousin acquired him as a rescue bird and when my cockatiel died at the age of 17 she asked if I would like to have Maxx. She had only had him a short while and must have been badly abused because he wouldn't let you near his cage without putting on his fight posture..

Active within 1463 Days Hi! My name is Maxx I am a Maximilian's Pionus from Seneca, SC. Buddy or Maxxie-Max 7 years old M Maximilian's Pionus pumpkin seeds, tortillas, carrots,anythin- g I'm eating . My Shoulder or on top of his cage or the doorway to his cage No pumpkin seeds and a 95 lb Boxer we have. The dog would never hurt any of the birds. I love to hang out with my owner when he is on the computer. Sometimes he lets me type One high note very shrill very loud whistle he lets out every now and then. I live with my cousins now , but Maxx is in my bed room. And my cousin has several large birds(2 cockatoo's 1 double yellow headed amazon, 2 yellow naped amazons and a rose breasted parrot. I love my pets more than I do my friends. Unconditional love they give and ask little in return.
