My cousin acquired him as a rescue bird and when my 17 year old cockatiel died she asked if I would like to have him. She had only had him a short while , but his previous owner must have abused this bird because I could not do anything with him for about 6 months. It was my first experience with anything larger than a cockatiel.

Active within 1498 Days Hi! My name is Maxx I am a Maximilian's Pionus from Seneca, SC. Buddy or Maxxie-Max 7 years old M Maximilian's Pionus Pumpkin seeds, tortillas, and anything my owner is eating I like to hang out on my owners shoulder when he is on the computer. Sometimes he lets me type our 95 lb Boxer, who wouldn't hurt a fly. When Maxx sees him he run to the top of his cage yelling "help me, help me" He says that very clearly Eveything- I hang out with him almost all day because he is disabled he is usually in the house, and I stay in his room I have a very high pitched loud piercing whistle I let loose every once in a while. My owner likes me better than he likes most people .We give so much and ask so little in return.

Hi Maxx Aramina here. Welcome to BC and here's another vote for you. Sounds like you have had a bad experience with dogs. I know Dandy did. Only those dogs were bird dogs and would lunge at his cage. Me, I just don't like them. I hiss at them if I see them. Fly by and meet the flock when you can. Your pics are great too. Maxx Is very good company as I am usually in my room. He hangs out on my shoulder on his little towel and I have old t shirts I split up the middle so it's sorta like a vest. Makes cleaning up a lot easier Come visit me, Maxx.	04/03/2009 12:07.22 PM	Report This Comment
