My wife had started showing a interest in parrrots. I had been around a Quaker earlier in life, and told her we should look. We spent a few weeks looking around till one day we were in a pet shop where they had just got baby Quakers in. We took Morraco home and he was still eating formula once a day. He was the gentlest parrot I have ever seen. He was about a year and a half old and went everywhere with us. He became sick one weekend and died late that night while in our lap. It was hard to recover afterwards. He is still missed deeply.. Awards

So sorry for the loss. Losing our Sun (Tampa) seemed like the hardest thing I have ever felt. That was 2 yrs ago and still hurts. The only comfort is she now is in Rainbow Heaven. I hope they are all playing together. We have 2 quakers in our flock and they are very special.

I am so sorry but I'm sure Morraco is happy where he is. I lost my parakeet Tweety and I miss him but Moracco and Tweety are probably together in bird heaven. : )

Come visit me, Copland.

  Never give up hope
I know it is difficult. When another Quaker is ready to come into your life, you'll know it. You can never replace Morraco. He will always be in your heart and you will never forget him. My Mom has had many birds, parakeets, a cockatiel and me. She thinks of those that she has lost and knows that they came into her life for a reason.

You always have friends here at BC.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a very beautiful and special bird. Quakers have got to be one of the most special parrots on the planet. My Mom had a cockatiel that died and that same year I came into her life. She will never forget Sparky but she said I am extra special and loves me to pieces. She would be heartbroken if something happened to me.

Your friend, Jewels

I know what you are going through. Prior to me Dori had another greencheek named Kirby. They lived together for nineteen years. She misses him very much, I'm helping her cope with her loss. She tells me that I'm the opposite of Kirby - in a good way.

Come visit me, Munchkin & Cricket.

I too send my condolences. We have put many $$$$ into our quaker, who came to us in a recovering state. About 5 years of age, he was still reverting to plucking himself bare and bleeding. It took us over a year to figure out a way to help, and now after 4 more years, we think we have the best way to keep him from hurting himself. He is such a big part of our life that we would be devastated if anything happened to him. Hope you find something to fill the hole in your life.

Come visit me, Polly; Summertime! & Zippy; WOW, Thank You Friends for this honor!.
