I saw him at a breeder's house. I was amazed because he's a cross between ROSE BREASTED/ BARE EYED COCKATOO. He was healthy and happy so I bought him at 10wks.. Awards

  Hi BeBe
It's been awhile so we thought we should fly by and say hi to you. How are things going for you? We are both doing fine. Spring has finally arrived and we've gotten the chance to go outside. Koki doesn't like it, she gets really scared, but I love it. I like to say hi to the wild birds outside, but they don't respond. They must not understand English. Hehe.

So, is there anything new with you? Hope you have a great week. Stop by our page anytime. We'll squawk to you later.

JoJo and Koki

I don't know about other parts of the US, but here in Minnesota, Umbrella and Goffin Cockatoos are fairly easy to come by. Other species are harder. Major Mitchells and Black Palms are hard to find anywhere in the US, and of course, those are the two species that mom just adores.

Mom also is into reptiles and would love to visit Australia for that reason, too. I have a bearded dragon brother at home. He's about 8 months old. His aquarium is next to my cage, so I enjoy watching him when mom gives him crickets. It's quite entertaining. They are quite popular pets in the US.

I'll talk to you later. Have a great weekend.

  How's it going BeBe
Koki and I don't get along at all. I try to be nice to her, but she just wants to kill me. If she is out of her cage and mom isn't looking, Koki will come to my cage, open the door, and try to beat me up. Luckily, I can speak and I yell "Stop it, you bad". Mom hears that and comes and gets her off of my cage. And the people at the pet shop where I used to live thought that mom wanted to breed me to Koki, boy were they wrong. They sold me to another couple, but then mom ended up with me a few years later.

I didn't realize you lived in Australia. That's one place that mom would love to visit. She used to have a Sulfur-Crested Cockatoo and has always said that she would love to see a flock of them flying free. She has a friend named Allen that works at The Taronga Zoo in Australia. He visits the US once or twice a year. Mom tries to hide in his luggage when he goes home, but he never falls for that trick. Hehe. Maybe someday, she'll get her chance to visit.

Well, I have to let Koki and Ruby use the computer, so I'll let you go. Squawk to you later.

  Hi BeBe
Thanks for stopping by our page. Yes, I do pluck, but only seasonally. Mom thinks that it's due to hormones.
I only do it from October thru April. Then I let my feathers grow in the rest of the time, except for my tail. And I don't really pluck either. I break off the feathers next to my skin, so the follicles never get damaged. I know, it's odd. But my brother JoJo was worse than me a few years ago. He totally plucked himself bald and then chewed the bones on his wings. He chewed them off up to the first joint. Mom took him to a vet that did accupuncture and that cured him. He doesn't pluck anymore. Before the accupuncture, mom had JoJo tested for many things. All of the tests came back negative, other than he was anemic. But that's because he lost blood everytime he chewed on the bones.

I'll have to post a picture later this summer of what I look like when I'm totally feathered out. I'm actually pretty cute.

Well, I've gotta fly. I'll squawk to you later.

  Hey BeBe
You are quite an interesting combination of birds but still a very handsome fellow. At first, mom thought that you were a Goffins with even more peach showing through than our sister Koki.

We love you and your sisters names, though. Mom has two friends with those same names.

Take care and have a great week.

BeBe is a rose breasted/ bare eyed cockatoo. He was an experiment. He shows funny but strange traits from both species. Instead of being pink like a rosie, he's going to be a peachy orange. BeBe is the best!

  Hello Bebe
I like your flock names B and C. From the picture I am not sure--are you a gallah? You are pretty anyway. I have been somewhat afraid of cockatoos as being needy birds. I thought having fish would give you something to watch and take care of. I am sorry to hear you do not like them, are they the wrong colors?

Come visit me, Polly; Summertime! & Zippy; WOW, Thank You Friends for this honor!.
