Tweety needs your votes for her poem. Her foot had to be amputated Feb. 26th due to the main blood supply being cut in her leg. We had to separate her from her cage mate. I wanted to get her a big cage to move (fly around) in and after paying 258.00 for her leg to become amputated we could not afford to buy her the cage of her dreams. how are you all doin? is Corky any better? maybe she's scared cause she's used to being around only smaller birds? Tell your mom to read up on second hand birds, maybe there will be some good tips in it. one of my siblings used to be like that. moomy found her in a pet shop and breeder lied about her age. he cut her wings before they finished growing out. mommy found her lying in a corner of a cage bleeding. mommy brought her home soon after but she acted just like Corky. later mommy went to a bird show in Syracuse. she spotted a hand fed male 'tiel. the breeder took him out of the cage and sat him on mommy's chest. mommy hadn't planed on bringing a new bird home but she couldn't resist. He ( Casper) instintly bonded with lemon Drop, and within a week mommy could pick her up and she loved loose time in the house. every bird has its' happy trigger just like any human, tell your mommy to just keep trying things. hopefully your new sibs. will be happy again real soon. - SunshineCome visit me, Sunshine & Casper.

Hey Malibu, Hope all is well with you. I was dropping by to give you a vote and say hi. It's been a little while since I last talked to you. Hows the weather up there? Did you get hit by the snow? My mom said where her mom lives, she now has over 130 inches! Way too much for me. Her gramma has over 3 feet. It's in the 30s here and I dont like it but at least there isn't snow to go along with it. The wind is so cold and damp though. Mom hates taking the dogs down to the park when it's cold. Glad I dont have to go out in the cold when I have to do my duties haha. Come visit me, Chester.

Hello again Malibu
My mom has decided to change my name. When she, or anyone else says my name i seem to get really stressed from it. No matter how she says it. I either back away and act scared or i get very aggressive. She has done some research and asked different people about it. Then in Birds USA they have an article about name changing. Turns out by keeping my name the same it may be reminding me of my old home. Which of course isn't a very happy memory. So i am now nameless. She is looking for new ideas on a name. Any help would be fantastic.

Pictures
Opps I hit a button and deleted everything i just typed. Have to start all over again. I like your pictures a lot. your mom is very lucky you like getting your pictures taken. I hate the camera. It scares me. The pictures on my page mom sneaked with her phone. I never catch it till it's too late. Why would i think that a phone could take my picture anyways. I'm sure that picture of you and your mom is a wonderful picture not cropped also. Maybe she just wanted all the attention on you. I think that's what it is. So see she's just being extra nice to you hehe. I think i would bite my mom if she got her face that close to me. She sure is noisy though with those toys on her. I barked for the first time though yesterday. haha. I barked at a letter she was putting on the table. Little by little i am learning new things. I still dont really talk but when there are people in the same room talking to her i have to join in. It always stops the conversation cause they try to figure out what i just said. Course when they stop i stop. As for my progress with the toys. I just want to get pet by them. I try rubbing my head against them. hehe.Come visit me, Chester.

I am a rescued bird as well but i was rescued much later then you. My old owner was moving also. When mom got me i was in a small dirty cage with one perch and no toys. The perch was too big for me so i couldnt really grip it. My gramma first bought me a new cage and then when we moved down to new orleans my mom and dad got me a big cage. I have only been with my new family for four months but i love it! She's adding stuff slowly though cause i am still really scared. I have one wooden perch that goes across my cage. She added another shorter one. It took me two months before i would stand on it. I have two toys i haven't touched yet. She is getting more stuff but not added it all at once cause i get too scared. She walks around for days wearing my new toys. she doesn't work so she is home all day with them. she jingles a lot haha. But i still don't understand them. She even took a bite of my wooden one. I tried biting it after her but it wasn't food so i didnt understand it. Stop by and see me sometime. I voted for you and Zazu today. I have three wooden perches in Malibus' cage of varrying sizes/diameter, rope perch, coarse perch, wooden swing and her several toys made of various objects, lots of wood! She doesn't chew on the perch near her food dishes, nor the perch in which she prefers to spend most of her time, but the third wooden perch is her "chew toy" and she goes to town on it as well as her toys. She doesn't chew her swing. She has a 7 foot Kings Cage and when I had gotten her, she was in this cage, lacking all but one leather toy and her food dishes. She would cling to the front of the cage and it took awhile before she would sleep on the perch, she used to climb to the top left front corner and sleep there, holding on to the front of the cage.
