Hi Everyone, I have some great news to share with you all. I was entered into my very first ever bird show by my birdsitter/bree- - der. I was in the novice division for senegals. In two days I came away with a total of 6 ribbons. 4 first place ribbons, one 4th place and one 5th place ribbon. Could have won more but since my wings are clipped it held me back. When mom takes pics of me with my ribbons she is going to place them here on my page for all to see. She is so proud of me. Both my senegal parents were top show winning birds. Brother Maxi also won honorable mention for looking so good for his age of 15 3/4yrs.. ............. Met her at a bird fair. She took an instant liking to me and chose me as her new owner. I wasn't going to buy a bird but when she chose me, I just had to take her home. It was instant love!... ...HATCHDATE JAN 26, 2003.... |

V4U today. So glad that your grandpa is back home again. We will keep on praying for him. We hope that he will get stronger and feel better each day. We've had some crummy weather here, not as bad as some states have had, but crummy still the same. Mom daydreamed as she walked down the flower bulb aisle at the store, and bought a package of peony bulbs to add to our garden. They are the Bowl of Beauty peony's, and they are her favorites. I didn't think they would have a Sennie team this season. Last night it got foggy here and we had fog yet this morning. Guess the warm weather and snow on the ground made the fog come out. Looks like some cooler weather is in store this coming week though the temperatures yesterday was in the 60’s so quite unusual for January weather. “Someone once asked us, “how can you be friends with someone you have never met?” and we told them “you’ve never been on BC I bet” and that about sums it up my friend” V4U. We are sorry to hear that mom is still having pain. It must be hard to have to be careful with the way she moves. Please tell her that wa are keeping her in our prayers.
That Bass shop sounds like a very cool place. It's really smart of your mom to get as much done ahead of time as possible. The closer it gets to Christmas the more crowds are out! They have some stores up here that are using a scanner inside the store to check people out so they don't have to stand in line. I guess you can only use credit card with it. It's sorta like paying for things with a smart phone. Mom is not sure she would trust it.

I think I have BIG problems. Mom and dad took me to visit a friend of thiers yesterday, who has been breeding CAG'S for well over 20 years. She was very impressed at how well behaved I was. She looked me over very carefully, and told mom I sure was a pretty girl. Mom almost hit the floor, cause she was told that I am boy from the lady she got me from. NOW, we have to have a DNA Test done to be sure.Come visit me, Jabber & Jetta.

haven't heard from you for a while! Hope you're alright! Guess what? Mum's just finished the nest with the babies & momma bird, it's too cute!! Pics tomorrow!
Mum's really happy today, b/c she made up with Glenda!
She wrote a msg to her last night in a nice way & Glenda replied back in a nice way, so now they're both smiling!
Mum hates to have bad feelings with anyone & it really gets to her, so now she is back to normal! Glenda even said that mum's birds are really good & apologized for upsetting her!
She went for another indoor swim this afternoon & would you believe it, that pigeon was there again!
Hope you're having fun, whatever you do, dad just gave me another peanut, haven't had one for a while, so i treasure this one now!

look at the new pics of the photo shoot with the pals at the beach today! That's only mum's pics, but there's heaps more & nicer ones to come
Mum went with Sandi, my vet's nurse, she's a real good photographer, but it'll be a few days till mum gets her pics. It was a real nice day for it too, nice & sunny & warm.
The first pic is of a flock of black cockatoos flying over head! It's really hard to get a good pic of that, but better than nothing!
Mum really want to forget about that mess with Glenda now & carry on as usual.

thank you, thank you, thank you so much for being on mum's side & supporting her like that, she's very relieved & grateful & also glad that she told you about it. Now she just wants to forget about that nightmare & carry on doing what she does best, making her beloved pals.
She never heard anything anymore of Glenda, but 2 of her friends were harassing mum yesterday on FB.Mum told them a few things & they're quiet too now, but mum's still worried that some damage might be done to her small enterprise, b/c it's gone eerily quiet with orders!
The weird thing about it all is that Glenda knew for a few month that mum makes those pals, but never contacted mum about it, so why NOW??? Mum was thinking too that she might be jealous.
Anyway, mum posted 2 new pics today, one of her new CAG & the other of a crimson rosella, she made the other day.

We got some rain here today and it cooled it off nice too.
This is the weekend the one grand daughter comes to stay here. Mom and dad and grand went to the other skin sis house swimming yesterday afternoon. It was very warm here and the water felt really good they said. I know they are a bit red and went to bed early last night too so must of wore them all out! “The language of friendship is not words but meanings”. Mum is very very upset today, b/c she got a msg on FB from Glenda Rendell, that is the woman who made mum the little birdie buddy of me last year & from which mum got the original idea to make her birds. Now Glenda & all her friends blame mum that she "stole" the design!!!! Mum NEVER stole anything, she has always crochet & made animals & dolls & blankets & things, so the birds were only natural to follow. Mum's birds have NOTHING to do with Glenda's, they're much bigger, have proper feet & stand up by themselves, Glenda's don't! Mum's birds have plastic eyes, Glenda's have felt eyes.
Mum never had a pattern, as you know, she has it all in her head & nothing is written on paper. Each & every bird is unique & no two will ever be the same! If they destroy mum's little business now, she'll be shattered, b/c that's all she's got now to make a tiny bit of money, since she lost her job a few month ago & being almost 62 won't help getting her a new one & on top of all that she just loves & adores to make the pals, as you very well know! Mum also saw a lot of crochet parrots on ETSY & they all came up AFTER mum put her pics up there, so did they copy mum? If they did, mum won't make a fuss about it, b/c it's a free world, specially when it comes to being creative! We can all do what we want when it comes to creating b'ful things to make the world a better place, don't you agree?
And by the way, mum also made other birds than parrots, like ducks, pigeons, penguins, jays, cardinals, kookaburras, gulls & finches! Glenda never did that! You can look up her birds on FB, so you can see how different they are from mums.
Mum's almost in tears here & i don't know what to do with her! That's all for today, hope you have a good w/e,

i'm baaaack!!!! Mum was too busy with that hook & didn't have time to take my dictations, but now she's having a little break! New pics are up...of meeeee, eating my peanut in the shell, only taken last night! Also the new B&G macaw & a yellow shoulder amazon.She just completed a new DYH amazon as well, the other one sold!
Mum's not sure if there will be a pic on BC, but there will be 2 in the magazine. It comes out in December.
The orders are both from Australia & the States, but that big one with the 10 pals is from here.
They actually did ask mum what she's doing with all that wool & she happen to have 2 pals with her, so she showed it to the sales lady. She loved them & wants to tell the manager about it! We watched the Olympic opening ceremony & also watch a bit of the comps as well, but not everything!
