 I have been going to our local pet store because I really wanted one of the white faced cockateils and he was the last one. I was waiting until my house emptied out to seriously consider buying one. I went to the pet store quite regularly and noticed how it was going downhill pretty fast and also noticed that the birds were really getting neglected. The drinking water was very, very dirty the last couple of times visiting so I decided I needed to save this little fellow. He is only 6 months old and he use to be tame when the breeder worked there but because of the neglect he is very skittish and scared. I am going to keep working on him. i am not going to give up on him.. |

Hey Jasper- Nice to meet you. I actually have a partner in crime who looks just like you. His name is Vinny and he's a 14 year old Cocatiel.
I yell to him "YO VINNY" and he chirps back, then I answer him in the same chirp. This goes on for quite a while until someone yells at me to knock it off.
I hope you will someday add a Grey to your flock. He'll have so many more chirps to imitate...

Hi Jasper, Buddy, and Chloe
This picture of me is of my first day home with mom. I was nicer then when she rescued me from looking at those snakes and lizards all day and night long. I'm somewhat of a bad boy now, because I let Poncho influence me into being mad at her when she has to leave and go to work. She's giving us a treat tonight and staying home with us, but I see that fly swatter....

Hi Jasper and Family , our mum likes Tiels too . As for us Lorikeets if you like messy non seed eating very active birds they you would love us , how ever many people are turned off by our liquid projectile droppings that we can squirt in any direction , if you are not bothered by this and like attention demanding birds who are happy to be with you all the time then we are a great bird to have Come visit me, cockatiels, Anakin Skywalker, yoda and Obi Musk lorikeets, Kiwi & Maori, Baby Tiki and Patu-paiarehe. & lori , Jillby , pikachu and Jaffa.

Dandy here. I know how it is to get into an new home and be scared. But take it from me....it's worth calming down. My mom is still working with me and it's been nearly 6 months since I moved in. Yeah, I'm not panicky but I still bite mom. And you even have another tiel to help you. Fly by with Chloe and meet my flock. Welcome to BC too and here's another vote. I'm glad to hear you got a good home. The pet stores in my area do not take very good care of their birds either. Petsmart by far has the cleanest cages and healthiest birds. Pretty sad, considering most bird people hate major stores. I was lucky, when I got my tiel he was very friendly and marched up to the cage. A few weeks later I went to the same store and all the other tiels seemed really nervous and frightened. Maybe after some more time, he'd have been traumatized too. Luckily I got him home and he was perching on my shoulder the next day. Now he's spoiled rotten. Come visit me, Canyon & Luna.
