Her previous *owners* moved away and just left her in their backyard in her cage. A neighbor heard her crying and brought her to us. She had no water and her food was full of worms. She had plucked most of her feathers off. In spite of that she was very friendly and went through all of her *friendly* sounds so that we would want to interact with her! She is my constant "shoulder decoration" and loves nothing more than to kiss my cheek and groom my hair.. Awards

Again, I'm sorry for your losses. A piece of my heart goes with each and every Pet that I lose. I also lost one of my English Budgies, Bogart years ago. I decided to take him outside in his cage and he decided to lift the food cup all the way up and squeeze thru and flew away. He had NEVER done that before and of course I was upset. The first Cat, Mickey that we had would NEVER stay in the house even though we didn't want him to go outside and sure enough he was killed out there. So NONE of my 2 Siamese ever go outside and to tell you the truth they have no interest in it either. I did find out later that Mickey turned out to be from a Barn Cat Mother so I think it was in him. No matter what it's always heart breaking. Take Care and keep in touch. Enjoy the Babies you have left.

Hello to Peanuts Dad & or Mom,

I'm so sorry for your lose. There is a place in hell for people or abuse Animals or even Humans for that matter. I've lost many Animals over the years and it never gets easy. So glad she had a Forever Home her last years. I don't understand how people can just leave Animals or toss them like they're trash. Please stop by and see my Babies. Take care and God Bless You.

  Hi Peanut!
Oh my goodness oh my goodness, OH MY GOODNESS!!! Mommy is SOOOO excited! See, she helped rescue and rehabilitate a poor blue crowned conure named Kiwi (not our frother Kiwi, another one). Kiwi is a VERY special bird and mommy says that he has a beautiful spirit and a wonderful, peaceful energy about him. Even after being terribly neglected and severely malnourished (to the point that he is 30 grams underweight!) he is so kind and trusting. He really has a special place in my mommy's heart (not as special as MY place...but almost!) Anyway, he got adopted the other day by a wonderful forever family and his forever family has made him a page here on BC!!! So we are asking a BIG favor...could you go over and visit him? His name is Kiwi and his number is 163505. That would be SOOO great! Thanks so very much BBFF!! ~Huey

  Hey Peanut =]
Dropped by to give you a friendly conure vote.Tsume GCC momma bird was left in a locked storage with a sun conure. The guy who rescues birds here, told me that story. I adopted her and Tsume's daughter FireTail. Both have small problems. FireTail has a crooked leg. Momma bird has a crooked beak. Which I found one side is not there. So, the left side grew over to right. Mom & Daughter are wonderful Green Cheek Conures. Take care, see ya later. A passing of a beloved pet is hard. But, they never really leave us. Their wanting for us on the other side =]

  Hi, Peanut!
Have I already blogged you? I can't remember. OK, I have a question.

Hello, Peanut's owner. We just saw that Peanut has passed away. We're so sad for you. We know too well what it is like to lose a pet. But it was only July 3rd! Wow. She was only 6 and she died? Was she sick? Could you please tell me? I am so sorry.

Ok. I'm sorry too. Now, here is the question: do you think that mom should name me Sparky or Ace?

I am so sorry to hear about your lose. I myself have 3 birds now Baby, Sunshine, and Stitch. Stitch is the newest member to the family. He is only 1 month old. He too is a blue-crown-conure. I don't know what I would do if I lost one of my birds. We have had Baby and Sunshine now for a year, and all 3 of our birds are our babies. You will be in my thoughts.

PEANUT (aka: Nutty Buddy) will be missed...
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I lost a bird suddenly and unexpectedly about 5 years ago and it still brings tears to my eyes when I remember him. I remember feeling guilty that I was the one he picked at the bird store. I kept thinking, if he picked someone else, he might still be alive. But then I remembered all the love and joy he brought to my life, and I like to think he enjoyed his short but sweet life with me as well. You did a wonderful thing when you rescued Peanut from her awful former owners. You should feel glad that you were able to bring her so much happiness and that she felt loved before she died. I hope you decide to adopt another bird someday. You sound like a great "daddy". I am giving my whole flock a big hug today :(

  Hey Peanut, Parker Parrot here!
I cannot believe you don't like water! My whole flock LOVES water! Perhaps it's because we live in south Florida and it's always SO HOT down here! My mom takes us all into the shower everyday at 2pm (if she forgets, we start making "water" noises to remind her) and we fight over who gets to be soaked first! Plus, she has a bird bath bowl in our room and plenty of water misting bottles to spray us with. Have you tried sitting on the towel rack inside the shower? You don't have to get wet... you can just enjoy the mist and steam! Ask your dad if you can join him next time, you might like it!

  Hello Peanut!!
Wow... that was some sad story, but with such a happy ending! Thank goodness you found a loving home with people who care for you properly! My mom spoils me and my flockmates all the time. My only peeve is that I have to share her with the others! I noticed you are a Blue Crown Conure... so am I! Stop by and visit sometime. ~ Parker Parrot

  Hi Peanut!
Just a couple of conures (ok, 5 of us) saw you and wanted to fly on by and say Heellloooooo! We love meeting new friends. We're also very happy you have a new wonderful home. It makes us very angry when we see such beautiful feathered pals, like you, left out in the elements by previous owners who were not kind, so we're very happy to see you loved and happy now! You are a very beautiful girl! :)
Come visit us anytime and we'll be sure to have some grapes and peanuts just for you! Here's a vote for you!

Hi Peanut, Thank you for stopping by! It's nice to know a bird from Kalamazoo Michigan. We Michiganders have to stick together. Does your Mom know where Cheboygan is? We are at the top of the "mitt".
I have a cat like you do only I don't chase her. By the time she came around I knew how to train kitties as we had had several. I trained them all the same. When they were kittens I'd sucker them into putting there paw into my cage. Then I'd bite them and after that they stayed clear of me and my cage.
I know another conure named Peanut. She belongs to my Mom's grown son. Peanut lost her wing when a dog tried to pull on her. But she does very well.
I read about how you were rescued and it made me want to cry. How could anyone leave you like that :( I sure am glad you have a good home now with lots of love. My mom rescued a Mullocan Cockatoo, a Blue and Gold Macaw and a Goffins Cockatoo from an abusive home. All of them had picked all their feathers too. They still don't have good feathers like I do even though they have been living with us for three years now. Well stop again, I'd love to chat. Oh I voted for you.

Come visit me, Renegade, Cody & Danny.

How can someone just leave a bird or any animal on it's own and expect it to survive! It just makes me sick! Thank God you were there to save this poor little girl! Piper hasn't tried to go into my shirt yet. He's so busy getting into everything else to settle down enough to even try. I hope he grows out of this stage! Busy, Busy, Busy bird!! Man!
