We are so deeply sorry for your loss
We were just doing a little research on yellow collared mini macaws because we may be adding a rescued one to the flock. Saw your memorial. We share your pain.
There is a memorial section to this site. I wrote a little something for my sweet love bird and it actually helped me just to get it out with people who truly understand. Maybe it'll help you know that you are not alone.

Such a pretty angel bird. God knew most of us don't see angels so He made birds in the first place. We miss Percival, Galahad, Gawain, Lancelot, Gareth, Alexis, Dmitri-Alexei, Tatiana, Nicholas, Alexandra and Emerald around here. Sorry to hear that it took you so long to see how wonderful George was but I understand. I have a 15 year old daughter that can't stand Rocky right now but I'm sure as she gets older, she'll love him as much as I do. I sure hope she does, she gets him when I pass away!
I would like to ask you, I have a memorial page for all our BC friends that we have lost threw the years and I would like to add George, if you don't mind?

SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS
Here is a little poem to help make you feel better...
"I'll lend you, for a little while, a bird of mine," He said. "For you to love while he lives, and mourn when he is dead. It may be six or seven years, or maybe twenty-three, But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief, You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay, as all from Earth return, But there are lessons taught down there I want this bird to learn. I've looked the whole world over in my search for teachers true, And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.
