I had a cockatiel before him for over 11 years, but sadly he died. After a year, I decided I was ready for a new one, so I adopted him at a pet store that specialized in breeding exotic birds.. Awards

Hi! My name is Bird

I am a Cinnamon Mutation Cockatiel from Gainesville, FL.

Bambino, Boy

11 years old   M

Cinnamon Mutation Cockatiel

Anything. I'll eat anything. Except meal worms. Eww. The hedgehog can have it.

On top of my owner's book shelf, on top of her boyfriend's head, and my bird playground

Not being played with 24/7, and my owner playing with her hedgehog instead of me.

She lets me eat from her mouth and sit on her head.

I like to rock out to punk and techno, sing my heart out when I'm suppose to be asleep, eating whatever my owner eats, and trying to peck off those annoying keys on her laptop! And I love meeting new people, especially if they let me nestle in their hair..

If I can reach it, I'll eat it!.

  Hi Bird!
I just stopped in to check out your new baby sister Athen. She is very pretty. I'm sure you both will learn to get along. Remembar you are the big brother so you need to show her the ropes. I voted for you and I also voted for your sister. Enjoy. Kacey

  Hi Bird!
Kacey here, Been awhile since last talked to you. How are you? I am doing better. My last vet check went well. My wing is starting to slowly heal, swelling is going down. My vet is pleased with the progress. I still must wear a collar around my neck so I don't go after my wing. That is what the vet is most worried about, how I will react to my wing once the collar is off. I will try my best not to attack my wing so hard. It just isn't the same as my left wing though. Write soon, Kacey

Tweety needs your votes for her poem. Her foot had to be amputated Feb. 26th due to the main blood supply being cut in her leg. We had to separate her from her cage mate. I wanted to get her a big cage to move (fly around) in and after paying 258.00 for her leg to become amputated we could not afford to buy her the cage of her dreams. We notice that she flies a little to get around her cage and can defiantly use a bigger one. Thank you; please visit her web site at

Come visit me, Tweety, Frosty and Ringo.

  Hi Bird!
Kacey here to wish you a fun day. I finally have all wraps off my wing but I now have to wear a collar around my neck so I don't try to get at my wing and irratate it. My mom says it looks really bad. The vet says I am not out of the woods yet as to if the wing still may need to be amputated. I have to sleep in a makeshift pen. My mom took a large laundry basket, placed a soft towel in it and places my pet tent in it with a dish of food and water and millet. That is where I sleep since I cannot get around my cage with the collar on. At nite a blanket is placed over the basket to make it dark so I get a restful sleep. I see the vet again next week for a recheck. Kacey

  Wing Update
Hi Bird, How are you these days. I'm doing okay. My wing is still wrapped. I keep trying to preen it hard and I made it bleed again. The vet had to clean my wing and put an antibiotic ointment on the area I made bleed because it was swollen and irratated. I go back to vet next week, Thurs Feb 22cd to be monitored again. Vet said she will put a collar on me so I can't get at my wing so it can air out instead of being wrapped all the time. Vet says I need to get used to not having a cast on it anymore. I have also lost more weight, I am down to 91grms. My original weight is about 102grms. My parronts and vet are concerned. I think all this is just tireing me out. I hope I do get better soon. Take care, your friend Kacey.

  Wing news
Hi Bird, I got my cast off but my wing is still wrapped due to I went a little crazy on preening it at the vets and made it bleed. The vet wants me back at her office next week to see if I'm better at preening the wing without hurting it. The wing is healed, looks good, and is stable. Will update again next week.

  My Wing Injury
Hi Bird, Kacey here. As to how my wing got broke, it was broke by my sib SweetPepper. She wanted to check out my pet tent while I was inside it, we got into a scuffle and of course the bigger, stronger bird won. She didn't mean to do it, it happened when she grabbed my wing to get me out of the tent. It was an honest mistake but I am very wary of her now. I got good news from my vet today, if all goes well, I may get the cast off next week. When I go to the vet next week, she wants to watch me for awhile with the cast off to see how well I do without it. Also I need to preen and work on my feathers. I have a lot of new feathers coming in and it is itchy under the cast. So I will be spending the morning at the vets next week. I do hope it goes well as I am getting tired of this cast. I want to spread my wings. Will do update next week. Thanks for caring, Kacey

  My Digger
Bird, thank you for telling me about your sweet Baby. Yes it is hard to loose a dear pet who is part of the family. Digger wasn't my first loss. We had 3 parakeets before we got into tiels and sennie. Each keet died in our hands. It was heart breaking to see them go. Our tiel Maxi is 14 1/2yrs old now, we cherish every day with him as who knows when they could go. Age 10 is the average for tiels and anything after that is a blessing. So far the vet says Maxi is in good health. He never has had any x-rays or extensive tests done so you never know what is going on inside them. We love and care for them for as long as they are in our lives.
Owner of SweetPepper, Maxi, Kacey and of Digger

  Hi Bird!
Hi Bird, My name is Kacey and I am a 1 1/2 yr old Female cinnamon cockatiel. So far you are the only other cinnamon tiel I have come across on bird channel. I voted for you, we cinnamon tiels need to stick together. I am recovering from a broken right wing and have been in a cast since Jan 3rd. I hope to have the cast off in about 2-3 weeks. My bones were very slow in healing and my vet was worried I would loose my wing. It is tiresome to walk around with a cast on your wing. Remember to stay safe. Kacey

Hello Bird! You sound just like Treasure, always eating! Do you have chunky feet like him? We say that Treasure flys like a rock bc he is such a big bird. But he is the most fluffy and cutest thing ever.

Come visit me, Pudgie & Treasure.

  Me. too!
Hi, Bird. I like to jump into my mom's plate, too. One time I dove beak first into a plate of pancakes and syrup! That was the day I discovered I didn't really like taking baths. But mom said that's the price I pay for wading through syrup. Somehow it seemed like a good idea at the time...Come see me. Gotta fly... Feathers

  Welcome, Bird!
Hi, Bird. I like your name. It's simple and to the point. You'll never forget what kind of critter you are. Sometimes I think I'm a dog, and try to eat dog food.Mostly I think I'm a people. But you better be careful eating out of your mommy's mouth - you can get sick from people germs that way. I used to drink from my mom and dad's glass, and it made me sick from their germs. Now I get my own special dishes to eat their food from. My tummy is much happier now. Come see me! Gotta fly... Feathers

Come visit me, Feathers.
