 I have wanted a bird since I was 3 years old. I had parakeets, but I was allergic so they couldn't be in my house. After a tragedy my family and I decided to look for a bird. In my excitement I instantly found Kiwi who had just been put on the floor in a pet store. He was still being formula fed and after being told how to feed him, I took Kiwi home. He was six weeks old when I got him.. |

Hi Kiwi
I love my Jeep too. My mom drives a Jeep, and on my 16th birthday, she got me this one. Dad put a perch on it for me. Oh yeah, I also got my driver's license. Mom thinks she got the Jeep Rubicon at K-Mart or Walmart.
I only go on the patio when Mom & Dad are with me for pictures. It is a covered patio, but I still have to be in my Wingabago because I won't wear my harness. Mom hopes I will keep trying to wear it. Do you have a driver's license?

I know I am a bore here telling you too much, but you will find all this useful if you get involved with BC.
This is the full party notice for this weekend:

ROCKY DEPARTS THAT DAY AS BOTM BUT WILL STILL BE THERE A COUPLE MORE DAYS FOR ANYONE THAT WANTS TO STAY THE WEEKEND AT THE CASTLE. THEN, RUBY + RIO HAVE THEIR FIRST ANNIVERSARY PARTY AT HERSHEY PARK ON THE 1 AUG AND YOU ALL CAN COME AND CRASH AT THE CASTLE AFTERWARDS. SO IT'LL BE ONE MAD PARTY WEEKEND!! PAAAARTEEEEE.....///

If you are very new here, there are lots of things no one thinks to tell you, including BC.
1) To get to another bird's page, you can click on the bird's name at the bottom of a blog they sent you.
And you can always click on "My Account" at the left of the page you are on to get back to all your birds listed, then click on their name to get to their page.
2) Or, if you want to get to a page where you don't have a blog to use, you can put the page number you want to get to in the url bar on top of the browser your parront is using. It should currently say: http://www.birdchannel.com/blog/viewbio. aspx?apid=141459
because that is your page's address. There is sometimes some other stuff after the apid=141459, but you can erase that. Paste the number of the page you want to get to over the 141459 and click enter.
Now, this is useful for a number of things. If you put in 123746, and click enter, you will get to the Baseball League page. And many of us birds on BC are baseball mad. There are two leagues, the Beak League and the Talon League. There are 13 teams -- Two amazon teams, two senegal teams, a mixed poicephalus team, two congo african grey teams, a Timnah african grey team, a quaker team, a cockatoo team, a macaw team, a tiel team, and a keet team. You will notice there is NO conure team. It's probably too late for this season, but, if you want to make lots of friends on BC, start a conure team. If you are interested, leave a blog on the Baseball League page and ask them what you need to do.
Also, we elect a Bird of the Week each week (based on the bird that gets the most votes that week -- look at the top of your page -- you will see the vote button), and a Bird of the Month (based on the bird that gets the most votes in the month). Unfortunately, BC does not have two different vote buttons, so fairly frequently, the bird running for BOTM ends up as BOTW without intending to. If you vote each day for both a BOTM and a BOTW you will get to know a lot of birds very fast. The bird currently running for BOTM is Maxi, 9042 (so you would paste 9042 over your number, and click enter -- it should take you to Maxi's page to vote). If you go to page 144395, you can see pictures of birds that have been elected BOTM for about 18 months back, and can see the birds that plan to run in the near future. The Bird of the Week page is 16847 and that is also the page of our current Bird of the Month, Rocky. Rocky keeps the list of birds that are planning to run for Bird of the Week. All this keeping track is because we used to get into heated contests, and birds got mad at each other. Mostly now, it is a peaceful transition to new BOTW and BOTM.
There are also parties on BC, and a big one coming up this weekend at the castle (the castle is the page of whatever bird is bird of the month).

Chew toys are the best!
Hey Kiwi... glad you stopped by! If you want some fun toys, try chewing up your mom's Pier One dresser (or whatever furniture you can find) One day my mom noticed the corners were missing from the coffee table and the next day I got all kinds of neat new toys! My favorite toys are the soft wood toys (like the star shaped wood blocks on leather strips) or plain (untreated wood) baskets. Good luck! You can do alot on BC.Talk to bird lovers,redeem points in avatar shop(on reptile channel you can redeem points for treats,books,etc if you have enough.You earn them by taking quizzes,signing in,writing a blog,make an avatar.Come visit me, R.I.P. Little Red, Blaze & Loni.
