Well, it's been a year!
How has it already been a year? Wow, not only birdies fly! Just wanted to let all of you know that I'm doing well out in the wild, and I even have a mate and a *gasp* baby! Carys was outside yesterday when I was feeding the babe, so I just had to do a few "awk"s to let her know that I'm well and happy.Come visit me, Buddie & Chico.

Hi Buddie - I'm so glad to hear that Cary took you in and took care of you until you were ready to go off on your own. I know that must have been a tough day for her but we all know how smart crows are and that you'll always remember her. I'll bet you'll even come back to visit.
My mom has some crow friends that always recognize her,even from a distance. They know that if they fly down to her, she always has a Cheese Doodle or another orange snack for them. What is it with crows and orange food anyway?
So, enjoy your free life, and always remember Cary for giving it to you.

I'm off on my own!
Hi everyone, I want to thank you for all your wonderful comments.
As of 10:20am Monday June 15th I am a free bird! I flew strongly and landed in a tree near Carys's home, where I spent most of the day. We called back and forth a few times, so she knew that I was okay. Some adult crows come and found me; they're now teaching me the fine art of "how to be a crow".
I called to Carys on Tuesday as well, so she would know that I made it through the night. She took care of me for 2 weeks, and we'll never forget each other. I couldn't have made it without her! xxxxCome visit me, Buddie & Chico.

Here is a big vote for you!!! We will be surprised if you are able to be left free and put back into the wild. You will not be afraid of people and will probably approach people, and someone may decide to "keep you" for themselves...then you won't be free any more. Or you may be caught by someone who is not "very nice". Our Dad is a conservation officer for the state of NJ and he knows alot about this sort of thing. We wish you the best. We have a "Buddy" in our flock, too. Fly on in for a visit any time.
