My daughter Keri-Bo,works in a pet store ,here in Jersey ,and she showed me the rooom where birds are boarding,or not for sale...and she pointed out this li'l eclectus stating that she was blind. I said, "Blind?" ,and went right over to her,(I never thought of a bird as being ...blind.)I saw how she was scared and lashing out with her beak at anything she thought was near her.I recieved a few bites, but she finally went up on my hand, and it was love.I bought her,and had stands made especially for her so she doesnt fall off them, and if she should, not far from the stand. She is having a playpen built also so she can climb around, and play on the gym,and if she trips up,she lands in the soft hay. I love my lil China.I am her eyes and (she is my heart).. I take her all over so she can experience what my other parrots do...lots of sounds of happiness, and laughter, and the feelings of love.. Hi! My name is China

I am an Eclectus from Brick, NJ.

10 years old   F

various nuts,and fruits.

mommy's shoulder,and lap.

I always wants to climb up on moms shoulder, and chew on her ears, but she won't let me..I really like her earrings too.

My owner is my best friend, and we do all the things I was meant to do,even though I don't have sight.

Although I may be blind...I still think I can see,and I climb all over, not knowing mom's hands are used as a safety net.I think she is very nervous I might fall...I guess I'm under her wing..

Riding in style.....

  Hi China
Thanks for the visit. Hope you and a very Merry Christmas. Dad made big hanging wooden things for all the birds. Mine was too big so I chewed it down to size so it doesn't take up much room (he he). Brollie and the flock. We give ya a vote too.

Come visit me, Brollie(stolen), Skeeter, Murphy(stolen), Pinky (returned), Gunnar (stolen) & Zeb, Chaco, and Rosario(stolen).

You look so wonderful. My cage mate is blind too, the only thing it keeps him from doing is flying. Well maybe something more since he is a boy and I'm a girl and I have never laid an egg yet. Anyway, he's really happy too. Here's a vote for you and I will talk to you later.

Come visit me, Kani.

  Hello China!
I love all of your beautiful colors. You may not be able to see it yourself but believe me you sure are beautiful. It is wonderful that you found such a special mommy to take care of you. It is wonderful that you found a good home...just because you're blind doesn't mean you don't deserve to be spoiled and loved. We all should be spoiled and loved. I am so glad to hear that you are doing well in your home. Mom has been looking at other birds to consider adding to our family and your breed is up there on her list. I hope we get a birdie as wonderful as you. Keep climbing!

Tweety needs your votes for her poem. Her foot had to be amputated Feb. 26th due to the main blood supply being cut in her leg. We had to separate her from her cage mate. I wanted to get her a big cage to move (fly around) in and after paying 258.00 for her leg to become amputated we could not afford to buy her the cage of her dreams. We notice that she flies a little to get around her cage and can defiantly use a bigger one. Thank you; please visit her web site at

Come visit me, Tweety, Frosty and Ringo.

  Awww what a GREAT story!
You are so lucky China that your Mommy found you - she is a very special lady! You are just beautiful! Here’s a vote for you and a birdie poem: I love birds, I love them so, Life without them I’ll never know. Each day starts with a meeting, Chirps and whistles it’s their own special greeting. Fresh fruits and veggies to wash and chop, Served with warm birdie bread to fill each crop. Toys of wood, leather and bells, Makes for fun with loud squawking yells. Feathers and pellets all over my floor, Does not deter me from loving them more. As the sun fades we share kisses and scritches, Then it’s off to each cage with sweet dream wishes. If you enjoyed that, please stop by the Bird Contest section on this website and give us your vote in the poetry contest – we are on page 4! Mom would like to add another member to our flock and by winning a new cage, this would encourage Daddy to let her do so!

Come visit me, Riley, Tinkerbell, Tiki & Sayde Rose.

  Hello, miss China.
That is a very special bond that you two have. I am very glad for her, and you, that you found eachother. Unfortunately, we all know how some people are about not wanting to have to spend extra time with a disabld animal. I still don't really know how to get around on this site, let Jack and I know if you have a photo gallery :)

  Hi there
Hello pretty bird, Mr. Feathers here! I wanted to stop by and say hello! Hello! You have a lovely mommy! I like to nibble on my momma's ears too. She lets me here and there, when I'm being sweet. It's better for her, I don't think she wants anymore holes in her ears. How cool is it that you're getting a new playstand made just for you!! That's awesome. You take care and tell mommy how wonderful she is!

  Hi again China!
Oh dear, so now mom has to look up Burlington? Could be've never seen her with a map! I can only shake my e-collared head at her! The show mom is doing in Pennsaulken isn't a bird show :( She's a rubber stamp and scrapbook manufacturer and does those kind of shows. The only good thing about her being away is that she always finds a bird store and brings home tons of stuff for me & my flock mates to destroy. (Dad doesn't like that we chew up literally hundreds of dollars worth of toys, but mom doesn't mind.) Actally we have a race to see who can chew up what the fastest! I ALWAYS win! Too bad Pennsaulken isn't close by you (I'm assuming it isn't since you don't know where it is....but then maybe your mom knows!), coz mom could get you and your mom into the show for free. I only get to go to 1 of her shows each year. That's the one that's here in Ocean City. Mom only takes me to that one in case I get cranky and have to go home again. Well, 'nuff said. Talk to you soon...birdie hugs again, Buddy :)

Come visit me, Clyde, Tiki, Buddy, r.i.p. 8/20/08 & Bobbi.

  Hi China
Well it is such a pleasure to meet you. My brother visited your sister and then she visited I picked you to visit next. I'm sorry to hear you're blind. I'm so happy that your forever mom found you though. That makes you one lucky bird! I too am lucky. This is my 3rd home now and I'm glad it's my forever home. It was stressful for me to be moved again but after time and love, they won me over. I used to work at an amusement park here in Ocean City with a "pirate" that didn't treat me so well or give me the proper food, toys or veterinary care. I came to my mom feather plucked and with a tumor on my uropygial gland. I'm wearing an e-collar now and I don't particularly care for it. Buy since I had also made a sore on my chest, my mom thought it was probably necessary. My feathers are starting to come in and my sore is healing. Mom says she just hopes I don't go back to the picking when I get this collar off. I've heard of "Bird Paradise" in NJ. Is that the same store as "Todd Marcus Birds"? Mom is doing a show in NJ in March or April and wants to visit there. Every time she goes on the road, she brings us back wonderful I'm hoping it's in or near the area she's going. Maybe you could ask your's Pennsaulken that she's going to. Well I guess that's it. I'm going to vote for you today. You won't see it, but your mom can tell you. Birdie hugs, your new friend, Buddy

Come visit me, Clyde, Tiki, Buddy, r.i.p. 8/20/08 & Bobbi.
