My mom came into the pet store to buy food for my siblings, I flashed her my crest.. wore it in a real wicked faux hawk, she fell inlove with me right away. She thought I was even more cooler when she had gotten me home and realized that I had a missing toe. I am actually a wedding present to my parents from my Mom's bestest friend..

Hi! My name is Ishka VonLichtenstein

I am a Cockatiel from campbell river, BC.

Kung Foo Bush Chickin, Stinktenstein

6 years old   M

Cockatiel

MILLET!!!! and honey sticks! dark greens, especially lettuce and broccoli

Definitely whereever my Dad is.. he's my man we're real tight me and him. I also like to hang out on top of the cupboards inside my dad's box of stag chili. I also like to sit with my Mom at the computer, I let her cuddle me and scratch my head, but if my dad comes in, I act like I am not enjoying my self at all:)

anyone going near or in my house! When the lovies bug me, they like to chase my long tail around and pull on it, even the new baby does it too! When my Dad doesn't pet me right or pays attention to Little Boo.. I kinda have a crush on her

Even though I kind of shun my mom when my Dad is home, she still feeds me and cuddles me, she makes sure I have all my fave foods and toys and cleans my house for me. She also has a fairy nite light just for me so I don't get scared of the dark.

Loves to steal the scrabble tiles during a game, or grab the tile holder and toss it across the board (causing much greif to the players!)
Mimics his Daddy saying "What r you doin'huh?" and the sound of the microwave and phone.
Loves to give his mom the 'stink eye' especially when she gets too close to my Daddy. I also like whistle along to Kate Nash and Great Big Sea
.

"When's my Daddy coming home?! I want my Dad!"

  Hello from Twilight
Hey we are almost neighbors! Where in BC is your town? I live in Anchorage. It is easy to find - just take the Alcan to Tok and turn south! Do you get lots of snow too? Or do you live in the southern part of BC?
I like summer more than winter because in summer I get to go outside in my summer cage. All winter (about 8 months) I have to stay inside the house. I tried going outside the first winter and that was not at all nice!! Mom had to stuff me inside her shirt and rush me back inside. Who would think that something that looks like fluffy warm feathers would be so cold! Now I don't follow my people outside in winter. I stay inside and yell at them!
I like to throw things when my people spend too much time not cuddling me too. I throw my kids UB Funkeys off the shelf onto the floor. I also drop coins off the dresser to watch them spin, and knock over my 12 year old's model dragons. I'm not really picky. Any smallish item they are paying too much attention to is fair game as far as I'm concerned!
Do you get to fly around a lot? I do. My mom doesn't clip my wings so I get lots of exercise flying around the house. Sometimes I like to run around on the floor and follow people from room to room. I find running on the floor puts me in a good position to do 2 things I like: 1) look for crumbs under the table and kids computer and 2) ambush toes! If you haven't tried the second one you should! It's great fun for you and provides good exercise for your people when they start hopping around making squeaking noises. Just don't get carried away and nibble too hard or you can end up back in your cage - I learned this the hard way.

Happy flying!

  Hello, Ishka!
We're flying in with an answer to your question about bathing. Well, we HATE it! Comet will not take a bath for anything and Sunny will take a bath in her water bowl only when she has eggs.

Some birds like taking a shower with their owner or in a large, shallow dish. Maybe a birdie bath fine spray bottle?!

I hope this helps.

So how are things with the flock? Everything is fine here:-)

Fly in and see us again. We love the company!

Birdie kisses & hugs!

Come visit me, Sunny & Comet, dearest Comet....

  Hello and welcome, Ishka VonLichtenstein!
Thank you so much for the kind words you wrote on my blog. Yes, I did have a rough beginning to life but I believe in miracles and that miracle happened one beautiful sunny, summer day when my mom walked in that pet store that I called home. She was never there before and was there to buy seed for her one and only cockatiel, Comet. I could see she was very upset about the situation we were in. She talked to the owner and he really didn't seem to care and never listened to mom. I was so happy she had room in her heart and home for me and I hope that all the other birds found loving homes as well. I am glad to report that within a year, that horrible pet store was shut down for good and no more birds had to call it home. It seems like so long ago now and my forever home was more then I could ever imagine. I am so lucky but I know many more birds are not as lucky as we are :'-(

Your flock looks like a wonderful one! Mom is hoping to get an african grey one day and our flock will be one bigger! The more, the merrier!

We wish you a wonderful day from our cage to yours!

We'll be back for a visit soon!

Top of the crest to you,
Sunny & Comet
