 My first budgie, Lattie, passed away, while my sister and I were taking care of him. He stopped breathing. I went to a local pet store in my neighborhood to see if they had a budgie the same color and markings as Lattie, but didn't find one, so I went to another pet store our of my way and found one that has a resemblance to my first budgie. We named him Lattie II and Lattie Jr.
THANK YOU TO EVERYBIRDY FOR GIVING ME THIS HONOR AS BIRD OF THE DAY. I'M SO HUMBLED. IF ANY BIDRY HAS ANY THING ON HIS OR HER MIND, FEEL FREE TO FLY ON OVER TO ME AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO HELP. COME ON OVER, EVERY BIRDY AND JOIN ME AT THE CASTLE. THERE IS PLENTY OF FOOD AND DRINK FOR EVERY BIRDY TO HAVE AND HAVE FUN.
I want to thank everybirdy for having giving me the opportunity to be your leader for a day. It was a pleasure and an honor. I have served everybirdy well. And now, I turn the mantle over to Rusty.

I HAVE SOME VERY SAD NEWS TO GIVE. LATTIE, JR, WAS DOING FINE UP UNTIL ABOUT SUNDAY, DECEMBER 23rd, 2012. BUT THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS, HE DIDN'T SEEM TO BE HIS USUAL SELF AND SOMETHING THAT HE DID, THAT HE DIDN'T DO WAS HE LET ME PLAY WITH AND CUDDLE WITH HIM. WE CHECKED ON HIM PERIODICALLY AND TODAY, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 27th, 2012 AT 8:30a.m., HE WENT OVER THE RAINBOW BRIDGE AFTER GIVING IT HIS ALL AND BEST. HE TRIED TO GIVE THAT ONE LAST CHIRP AND PASSED AS I HELD HIM IN A TOWEL. OUR HEARTS ARE SO BROKEN. :'(. |

We offer our sincere condolances over you loss of Lattie Jr. Remember that the Word of God says 'The life comes back to me, I require it!' This is how we know Lattie Jr. is safe and whole and with the Lord!
Our fister Angel Bertie and our friends Angel Christine, and Angel Sallykins will watch over Lattie Jr. and show him around! They will love him and teach him how to watch over all of us as well!

Royal here, dropping by with a HAPPY APRIL (And Palm Sunday) vote for you. I apologize for neither myself nor the girls coming by to visit anyone lately (except for the now Queen Peatree). Spirit Cloude (#144812) and Missi Mae the dog (#126407, DC) have been taking up the computer.
We've had some wacko weather this year. We had some pretty warm weather in January and February, but then it got insane in March! We got record-breaking temps of 85°F. One week later, we were back to the 40's and 50's, and now we're getting below freezing temperatures at night. Weird, right?
Well I've got some exciting news. Each one of the girls are laying eggs now! Violet is pretty sure that she was the first one who started laying, though Rose argues with her about that. Anyway, all Mom knows (and all I know, for that matter!) is that she's seen Violet, Rose and (pretty sure) Hyacinth laying, but not Daisy yet. Mom got four eggs one day though so we know for sure that each of the ladies are contributing. You can't ask the girls themselves though about who's laying and who's not, because they each have a different story for you. Sheesh ~ Women!!
Mom is hoping that the girls will end up hatching a clutch of eggs this year, but I'm not sure if that will happen. See, none of them are very broody, and they're still pretty young. They're only going to be turning one year old this year, so it's not likely that they'll turn broody yet. (The older hens get, the broodier they get, usually).
Well I guess that's it. I just wanted to stop by, leave a vote and give you an update on my flock! I hope that you have a great day.

It's Queen Lucky.
Please excuse my copy & paste but I have so many messages to answer, it's the only way to get caught up.
Thank you so very much for voting me BOTD. Popeye drove me to the castle at midnight and I received my crown (thanks to Ruby's mom, Eva). I slept late and when I awoke, my whole flock had taken the day off to be with me. We all had a wonderful time, just hanging out at the castle.
Then there was the party. Wow! So many friends came to visit that I lost count.
No, the dog was protecting me. I knew it but the humans didn't know and had a fit. The poor dog. He just sat me on the ground and sat there. I was fine. A little wet from the dog slobber, but fine.

Hello there! It has been QUITE a while, hasn't it? Wait, do you even know who we are?? It's HYACINTH, DAISY, VIOLET, ROSE and ROYAL, the chickens!!! We're BACK! Isn't it exciting?
Speaking of exciting news, we have something great to tell you :) We believe it was VIOLET who started egg laying! Early this month. The first egg laid appeared to be laid WHILE the hen was on the roost, so it broke, but who cares?? It's an egg! Our FIRST egg! Mom was so excited. A few days later, a beautiful egg was waiting for her in the corner! Mom ate it that night. Delicious! LOL! A few more days, and there was another egg :) That egg is posted in our gallery for all to see! Hope you like it :)
So how have you been? Has our frother Spirit Cloude (#144812) been entertaining you while we were away? LOL! Hopefully! Well, we're back now, so you don't need to be bored with his miniature adventures anymore ;) We hope to be back up and blogging reguarly now! Here's a vote now.. Have a GREAT day :)

i want every birdie out there to know how happy i am coaching the KEVLAR KEETS. i also want to thank all you birdies for the mess. left for our COACH DUTY. we really miss him. he was a good cousin. daddy had us all at the vet for a check up a few months ago. he was not sick at all but the vet said we all had large liver which is common with keets that live on seed only. remember daddy rescued so he didn't know what our diet was....daddy is sad that he lost 3 of his keets this year. It's me, Popeye.
That's great. If we play as friends, it will be a great game, no matter who wins.
The bare chest? Well, years ago when we first moved into the house we are in now, I had a brother cockatiel named Korkey. He had the cage next to me and we were best friends. One day he strated breathing funny and dad took him to the vet. He never came back. I still miss him very much. At the same time, dad got new cages, new lighting and put is in a new part of the room. Well, all the stress of loosing my best friend and then being moved was a little too much for me and I started to pluck my feathers. Dad saw what was happening and took me to the vet and now I don't pluck any more but my feathers will not grow back. But dad loves me just as much as when I had all my feathers so I guess that's ok.
Anyway, see you at the ball park on Saturday.

Hi Lattie and Lattie.
Hi. It's me, Pearl.
Let me tell you about my day.
On February 23rd, a little after midnight, Popeye woke me up and said to come with her. I said I wanted to stay in my cage, where it was cozy and warm. Popeye said that I had to come with her, for “it was important”. So I got ready and we both left our house and headed to the castle. I asked Popeye why we were going to the castle and she said; “You’ll see.”
We entered the castle and went into a very privet room. Popeye told me that this room was only for royalty. “Why am I here?” I said. Popeye said again; “you’ll see.”
Soon, a large door opened and the most beautiful budgie I’ve ever seen entered the room. She was wearing a crown that glowed in the dim light. She walked up to me and said; “Hi Pearl, I’m Nena. Do you know why you are here?” I said that I didn’t know. She looked at Popeye and then said; “You are our new Queen.” Well, I just about fell out of my feathers. She continued; “Let’s begin. Bird of the Day Pearl, step forward.”
I stepped forward and lowered my head. Nena walked up and motioned for another birdie to come forward. He was carrying a pillow with a beautiful crown setting on it. Nina took the crown and continued; “Bird of the Day Pearl, with the power invested in me by the members of the BC I, Nena, crown you, Pearl, Queen of the BC, and Bird of the Day.” Then Nena placed the crown on my head and asked me to stand. She stood beside me and proclaimed; “Ladies and gentlebirds, I present to you, Queen pearl, Bird of the Day”. I looked over at Popeye and she was “beaming” with pride.
From there, Popeye took me to a large room where there were lots of tables full of food and gifts. And my whole flock was there to welcome me. Popeye said; “This is your party, Pearl. Have fun.
So, everybirdy, please come and join me at the castle for my first party. What an honor it is to be your Queen for a day. Thank you all, from the bottom of my little budgie heart.

Maverick here! You stopped by when I was BOTD awhile ago, but I never got back to you. Sorry about that, Mom was busy and the other fids hog the blogging! I had already been in a few homes that didn't want me, and I wasn't handled much. I guess that's why I don't like being touched by human hands. Thanks for stopping by and congratulating me. Momma is so proud. I am the first birdie in the flock to get BOTD. Yeah, my parronts don't like to share the goodies on their plates as much either. You just have to jump over there and take it from them like I do. That's how I got my spaghetti last night, except I didn't take it from mommy. I went to mommy's best friends plate. She wasn't too surprised though cause she has lots of birdies too.

I am asking everybirdy again today to vote for my little friend, Baby Sky, for BOTM. I know she has not been around to blog as often as she should, but her dad is not feeling well. He is going to have to have carpal tunnel surgery soon, and it is tough for him to type for her. I left a note for Latte Sr asking if I could include him in my all Rainbow Bridge BOTD during Christmas time! I'm so glad it's ok with you that he gets to be a BOTD! I think that even the Rainbow Bridge birds are a part of BC and should be honored just like every other bird here!
Latte Sr. voting day will be December 28th and his BOTD day will be December 29th!

I guess I am kinda old, but it never feels that way! I've been with my family for 26 years and lived with another family for 6 years before that. Ceasaur is my boyfriend and he lives in Virginia. He's a year younger than me. He is an awesome guy and I'm very lucky to have found him!
