Mom and Dad chose me out of two possible baby greys. When they got on the floor to play with us, I outshined the other candidate by running toward Mom squeaking and playing and winning her heart over with my antics. She finished up my baby feedings and we bonded so strongly that I can't even remember another momma. I'm told I'm a bird and not a human but I'm not always convinced of that. I think Mom's secretly a bird and not a human and that's why we understand each other so well.. Awards

Hi! My name is Holly

I am an African Grey from Baldwin, WI.

Holly Berry, Muck-amok, Moo

15 years old   F

African Grey

I love pistachios, apples, fresh picked green beans, peas, and carrots, occasionally a salted peanut.

I love to hang out on the couch and watch a movie with Mom & Dad, spend time on my big playgym by the window, or splashing in a dish of water so Mom has a big mess to clean up is a lot of fun.

When I see Mom slumming it with Cosmo I get a little irritated. That green bird has nothing on me and I can't figure out why Mom even bothers with the non-talker. I say so many words that anyone would be impressed. My Mom's favorite, though, is when she greets me with Namaste and I give her a deep humble bow in return.

Mom loves me more than anything and she tells me that every day. She whispers into my ears at bedtime, "I love you most, I love you best, I love you more than all the rest!"

I love to sing the dog song, and when I add a little jazzy "yeah!" on the end of it I can make the humans around here fall out of their chairs with glee. They're so easy!.

You can't perch a hanging bird!.

  Hi Holly
Thanks for visiting and sharing how you don't really appreciate getting sprayed. I rather go in the bathroom sink where I can splash all over and make a mess but sometimes a little misting will do to cool down. Dad actually mist me with the hose and I wasn't too happy about it.
My mommy has always wanted to get an African grey just like you but we're waiting for a bigger place to live before we can add to the flock but we keep busy.

We left you a vote and swing by anytime.

Come visit me, Gizmo, Kiwi & Charlie and friends.

  Hello Holly!
Here is a vote for you! My name is Rocket and I am a CAG too. I see that you like peanuts. Salted peanuts are not good for us birdies, as salt is a no no. Also, shelled peanuts can cause the disease Aspergillosis, so they are not the best choice for us either. Unsalted shelled peanuts are alright, and so is peanut butter. You come form a fine looking flock. Here is a big vote for you. If you get a chance, fly on in for a visit.
Rocket & the gang
