 we purchased these 4 teeny ri red chicks from a feed store and they were wonderful pets, they were so much fun to raise and play with, its cool to watch them and they were friendly as adults...their eggs were so tasty and we miss having them around! sorry about the pics (not so good). |

Thank you all!
I am really honored! I made sure Zuri knew that he was BOTD! He had to leave though when he started trying to eat the keys! Everyone got plenty of peacock pellets! Then the horses and deeer wanted some to! And then of course the dog and then the cat! I was giving out treats every where! Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to your message but it's really hard to get a message out from the Rainbow Bridge.
Anyway, thank you so very much for your hatchday wishes and for BOTD. It ment a lot to me and to my dad and the rest of the flock. We were all so very happy. I love you all so very much and I wish I could be with you but it cannot be, right now. But someday, we will see each other again. I'm looking forward to it.

I have chickens in my flock and I love them to pieces! They are house chickens (due to the large raccoon population). We call them our therapy birds because they always make you happy. They are what started our love of birds! Here is our vote for you and thank you for visiting our page!

Hello from Twilight
Hey guess what? I have chickens living next door to me! My favorite is a Banti named Puddles. She has grey feathers and big poofy feet. I think Puddles is about 4. I know she was hatched from her egg in Tim's (my next door Lovebird) garage before either of us were hatched.
Puddles has 3 sisters and they live in an insulated heated coop one of my people built a long time ago when they had chickens too.
Puddles and her sisters are grandfathered in (that means they were here before Anchorage passed a law saying chickens can't live in the city limits) I'm glad they're here. They are cute and fun and all the neighborhood kids love them a lot.

Here's a vote for you. Yes chickens are cute nad fun. Fondest memories of growing up as a child was getting Easter Chicks one Easter morning, We were young and they were such a cool pet. We would ride them around on the handle bars of a tricycle and everytime we needed a horn, we wuld touch them under the wings and the would HONK! Chickens aren't nasty and dirty as peaople assume. May they RIPCome visit me, Skittles, Miss "B", Sonny & Lincoln.

We have chickens, and they are so wonderful, and you're so right-they definately are not messy like everyone stereotypes. Mom knows just how you feel. She used to have LOTS of different kinds of chickens...her fave was a RI hen. She was about 12 when she died. Laid and brooded until she was 10. Mamma was so sweet and she'd come to her name, as would most of the others. Bandies or Cochin it didn't matter, they were all sweet. mommy misses her chickens, chickens are so great if anyone has the availability to get some...the different stages they go through as they are growing is so cute so many different changes...at one point the babies changed som uch,not only were they not too good looking anymore but all their markings changed so we werent sure if the names we gave them was the same bird!!! they are wonderful pets and they werent dirty like some people think of chickens!
