i like to pull off one leg at a time when eating a cricket. mom cant stand to watch me do this which is why she always gives me crickets which have just passed on. we feed them a diet rich in calcium and nutrients so they will be very nutritious for me. their diet is a combination grains, molasses and calcium with animal protein and added supplements. mom buys it at the pet store. crickets get thirsty but they dont know how to drink water so mom dips a sponge in water and they eat the sponge. if you gave them a little dish of water they would drown.

DAY 21 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
DANIA’S VACATION TO LEBANON part 2
While we were heading to Lebanon the food service on the plane sucked because they were all packaged food. Plus they only gave us so little food so i was still hungry. It was hard for me to sleep on the plane because the seats were uncomfortable. The only good thing about the planes is that they had tv for me to watch. I took aircanada to get to london. When we arrived in london, we had to wait 3 hours for our next flight. After that we went into the customs then boarded the plane called bmi. When we arrived in Lebanon we went to get our luggage. When we got our luggage i noticed that one of our luggages was missing. We told one of the people that one of our luggages was missing so they wrote down our personal information. They told us that they would call us if they found the luggage. So as we were going outside, we met up with my cousins and my aunts. We were really happy to see them and it was an emotional moment because we haven't seen them in a long time. So we rode the queen taxi and headed to our apartment. While we were in the taxi the airport called my aunt and told her that they found our luggage. We headed back to the airport to get the luggage then went to the apartment. That was a fun party yesterday at the Dragon Cave, I hope they continue it today, since Kaji is BOTD! I could go for more of Lizzie's great cooking, couldn't you?
Congrats to the Quakers for their win yesterday, it was a good game. It's been raining here and this morning it was only 45 degrees when mom walked the dogs! That's quite a contrast with the high 80s it was the other day. I posted a pic of Joe's blue and gold, don't know how he got that special effect, though. Mom loves the pic. Oh, if anyone knows how to get that bird to bathe, we're open, because he's concerned. He's ready to put her and the cage out in the rain! 2 tours today, then off to do an errand or 2. The pool opens tomorrow, but with this weather, mom probably won't even go get the pass yet! Hi, Hulk,
Hmmmm, mom was off yesterday so not sure what happened to the coworker. It's possible she arrived after mom left but then would only have 2 hours to work her shift before the time she said she had to leave.
That a/c unit must be an old one or very basic. The energy saver is a must here in CA. In years past there was efforts everywhere to reduce energy usage. Mom's work used less light and people were encouraged to use only full loads on washers/dryers/dishwashers and use 'em during off peak time if at all possible. Even though energy isn't such an issue now lights are still not left on, water dripping, etc, etc. So good that energy saving lightbulbs and the like were created too.
More rain? We're envious. The fire season here has already started and things are very dry. A city near us had a grass fire near a high school yesterday, fortunately it was put out within a couple hours.

One of dads co-workers lives in one of the hardest hit areas ... his family and his house came through unscathed?!?! Amazing. Like God covered his house and family while the rest of his neighborhood was obliterated. How weird is that? Have a wonderful day. V4U. Hugs.

Oh no groans the boys
as they see the next hole is a windmill and they have to get their ball between the spinning blades just to get it on the green ! Hulk concentrates so hard his tongue sticks out the side of his beak - this makes Cookie giggle throwing off Hulk's concentration . . . Hi Hulk,
new pics are up. The first 3 are of the mama pig with her 2 piglets, then comes the mushroom with smurf & smurfette. A new kokkaburra, a new cockatiel, a citron-crested white cockatoo & a baby seal.
Mum's got good news. She's going to the market on June 1st. It was supposed to start on July 6th, but the lady had a cancellation yesterday & asked mum if she wants the spot. Mum wasn't so sure at first, b/c her friend Sandi can't come this time, but she told mum to go anyway.
That means she'll be very busy next week to get everything ready for it. She sure has a lot of stock now. Must be over 200 pals!!! Our weather is getting cooler now, but mum still swims & when she came home today, she said the water was really really warm again, wow & that at nearly winter time.
Dad's home on a holiday & i'm loving it to have both my parronts here with me. I fly from one to the other, but mainly sit with dad, after all, i have to make the most of him being on a holiday.
The disasters in your country seem never ending this year! Feel so sorry for the people who are affected.

Well, I did pretty good today not making a big mess. But, I haven't been feeling good. I'm back on my allergy meds and doing good today.
Today was a very cold and rainy day. It’s only in the 40’s …BRRRR! That storm on Monday left many broken trees on our road. Today they came down and we were out of power for 5 hours while they fixed them. Hope it gets warmer soon.

It's almost bedtime and I'm just getting on to finish up my notes! We didn't really do a whole lot today. Lots of cleaning in the kitchen mostly. It's amazing how fast it gets messed up in there!
Mom went over to the library today. She had 3 books on hold and needed to pick them up. She got me some new story books to read too! I can't wait to read them!!
I'm off to the night cage so I will say goodnight!

It was a super day here once the rain stopped, but gosh, it sure did get chilly! Silly Wisconsin weather!!
Hey, is that picture of 'under the cabinet'? Guess who else loves it there, and will try to chew up the baseboards, too? Nothing better than that wood stuff!
Glad you were able to stop by the Dragon Cave for some of that superb Hatchday Cake!!! Oh, it was so much fun to have everyone eating and enjoying themselves! There is just nothing better than having Lizzie's food and the company of great friends to celebrate the day that Mom and I met, and I chose her to go home with!

Mom or her kids ever did these camping trips either in school and now the grands all seem to so guess its something for this generation. Last night mom and dad were both so tired they even went to bed earlier then usual. Mom washed clothes and dusted some but don’t think that is what made mom so tired. It was very humid and warm here yesterday and mom walked her 4 miles and dad biked his usual 9 miles and think the weather wooped them both LOL. “Friendship, like flowers, blooms ever fair, when carefully tended by dear friends that care.” Leaving a big ole vote for you my friend….Chi chi.Come visit me, Gus & Chi chi ..

Well that job sounds cool that your mom does, I bet its fun!! I am sure you miss her though, she has to work 12 days in a row? Eeek that is a lot. You better come over and we can hang out, I dont want you to get bored and be lonely. We can do what ever you would like, sure would be fun!! Yeah your weather sounds like ours right now, but today was very nice the sun was out finally and it was a bit warmer its suppose to thunderstorm all weekend and be warm. Spotlight on Caring -Taz part 7
Sky here with our last blogs with the Proctor flock. I must say I have dearly enjoyed learning all about this well known B.C. flock. SKY; Please continue, Mom Gail; SUZIQ was the next member of the flock. She came from the same bird store as Scooby. We used to visit there fairly often and buy food there as well. Suzi was a sweet bird and used to live with the owner's wife but then after nine months she decided that she did want to sell her so Burt bought her for me to try and ease the pain of losing Xena, I was not ready for a grey and didn’t know if I ever would be. Suzi still is a beautiful and sweet girl who loves her me and only me. Suzi does like to lay eggs a lot. I have had her checked out to make sure her calcium levels were okay and they were, I also make sure that she gets enough calcium in her diet. Ekkies are also very sensitive with regards to their diets. They don't do well with a lot of additives in their food or with pellets; they need a nice fresh food diet. They also have a tendency to toe tapping and wing flapping usually due to an excess of additives in their diet or stress can also be the cause. Suzi did start to toe tap and wing flap years ago and I had to play detective to try and figure out what was causing this as she was not on any pellets or other type of bird food and there didn't seem to be any cause for stress either. After a lot of research I decided my only recourse was to do an elimination diet for her. I took away all food except peas to start with until she quit and if she didn't start up again after a few days I added another vegetable which was carrots...all well there but when I added corn well Suzi started up again, mom took it away and after three days she quit again. The only food to cause an issue was corn so no more corn for her ever. If she gets a little bit of corn cause she gets the wrong bowl the toe tapping and wing flapping come right back. No corn and all is well.
CHLOE is next to join, I was still missing having a grey around the house so Burt looked through the papers and found Chloe in a neighboring state. I talked to Chloe's mom through e-mails and we met them to pick her up and take her home. Chloe has been and is a joy to have around; she decided that she liked her dad best even though she was a Mother's Day present for mom. She is a good talker and has lots of sounds, some that she makes up. She loves to sing.
SIMON came to join us the following year. I always wanted a B&G macaw and so back to the papers for Burt. He spotted Simon in a neighboring state as well. We took the drive to see him. Spotlight on Caring Taz part 7b
As soon as Simon saw us he let out a really loud and friendly Hi, and as soon as we walked in we knew he was coming home with us no matter what. He has been a challenge for sure and I got bitten quite a few times in the beginning. He does not like men at all, in the 12 years he has been here that has not changed. He is a momma's boy and he has anger issues but I have figured him out pretty good now so I rarely get bitten unless I cause it by not paying attention. He is a very sweet bird in his own right. He loves being held and loved; I call him my cockatoo in a blue suit. My heart melts when he looks up at me and says "I love you", just like a guy. CHICA flew into our lives when her previous owner decided that he couldn't care for her anymore so he gave her to me. When Chica first came to live her she didn't like to be touched very much. She used to eat absolutely everything in sight until her bowl was empty. She gained quite a few grams now she is starting to enjoy being preened and held. It has taken time and patience so it is so nice to see her enjoying herself. She has learned a lot of new words from Simon and she has the most infectious laugh that it is impossible not to laugh with her.
PEARL was a beautiful little cockatiel. Burt saw her in a pet store, he really needs to stay away from those places, and brought her home. This was shortly after Tweety passed away. She was a sweetie and was sitting on Burt’s shoulder a few days after getting here and laid two eggs, she never laid anymore after that. She was with us for a few years and then got sick, we tried hard to save her but eventually she just couldn't stay with us anymore. It seemed as if she had turned the corner and was doing better but the next morning she was gone. She is buried in our back yard in the flowers. Miss you little girl. NAPOLEON joined us next. In case you didn't guess by now, I love greys. A lady in the bird club wanted to find a home for him and while at the meeting Napoleon and I were bonding so Burt talked to the lady and Napoleon was mine. They brought him over with his cage that evening. Napoleon is a wonderful companion and a wonderful bird. Napoleon is a sweet and loving bird who loves to give me kisses. He is constantly learning new words but won’t talk in front of Burt, when Burt leaves the room he starts talking or if he is with mom he talks…of course he doesn't like Burt or men for that matter. I am now complete...I have my grey...

Today mom herded cats! That's right, 2 kindergarten tours in dinosaur hall, with little ones going off in all directions! The chaperones were doing their best but kids get really excited there. Her third tour was with 5th grade, called Treasures of the Carnegie, which is basically a docent's choice tour, since the whole museum is a treasure trove.
Last night, mom worked an evening event in gems and minerals with a bunch of well to do adults at a wine tasting. It was fun, and right at the end, she ran into the president of the board of Animal Rescue League, the parent organization of the wildlife center. It was good to see him. He showed mom a spectacular picture of his blue and gold macaw. Mom may post it later.
The Pois pulled off a come from behind win yesterday, good for them. I was happy, but Willie, not so much. He really thought the Keets team would win. Both teams did a great job, though.
Hope you are having a good day, it's storming here. The storms started as soon as the game ended yesterday! Mom shut down the computer just in time. Mom and I cannot believe I am 9 years old already. I came to Mom when I was only a couple of months old and now I am a big boy and so independent. My entire flock lucked out because Mom cleaned all our cages outdoors and she gave every birdy a new toy, but I got TWO new toys and some treats. To make things better, I got BOTD. What more could a bird want. Spending a day in that Man Cave with King Jetta was something a bit different from the usual castle experience but it was loads of fun. Thanks so much for coming by to wish me a Happy Hatchday and to congratulate me on BOTD. I do hope you got a piece of the cake Lizzie baked - she is the best! Mom made cookies but they don't compare to the cake. Sorry Mom... giving Mom a kiss. Congrats to your team on their second win. We won't play again until next week.
Yesterday a coworker called before her shift to say she couldn't stay as late as scheduled. Manager said that was fine he'd just ask one of the stock crew to stay a lil later to cover, but then she never arrived! Didn't answer the phone either. This is one of the workers that's good when she's there and is usually reliable so not sure what happened.
Sometimes the employees think they're getting the same shift and don't check, but they should always check in case it's different due to others asking for days off or whatever.
Sounds like that a/c doesn't really work like it should. Ours has a temp thingy and also can use the energy saver on it and only comes on when it gets too warm.

Hulk buddy, I think our worst storms are over for now! We are having kind of a chilly and rainy day here in Rock Island today, but we don't mind! I don't have a lot of note time today, dad is going to an old timers luncheon with a bunch of retirees from where he worked for so long, he said it is good to touch base with all these wonderful people, and re-hash all the old stories, and keep up to date with there lives! It is also fresh fruit and veggie day at the grocery store! Please give my love to all in your home,have a great day, see ya tomorrow...

Well, my toys are all over the place. I like to play with them and then toss them as far as possible. Mom thinks I should help pick them up. This isn't going to happen only in her dreams.
Yeah, we too had that tornado watch on Monday but just got the severe t-storm ... that was more than enough. The country club near us lost 40 trees. The clean up goes on. But we were lucky and Ok wasn't so upsetting to see that.
Today’s t-storm was very short. But, it rained all day. The next 4 days will be sunny and 56 to 62 degrees. Every bird that is enjoying warm temps, please enjoy it for me. I’m just thankful that we don’t have the destruction like Ok has.

Well its still raining but we might get a break overnight and tomorrow and then for the weekend more storms and rain. Mom said its a good weekend to hang out with us. She wanted to plant flowers but she said she'll wait until next weekend, Memorial weekend can still be cool. Oh your poor mom 8days in a row at work, wow thats alot. What does your mom do. Tell her not to work to hard and hopefully she can relax when she comes home from work. We had a few showers but suppose to rain more and turn cooler so we will see.The one grand and her dad went camping with the school and skin sis sure did miss them. The kids go every year at the end of 5th grade for 3 days and her dad went as a chaperone. Skin sis came to visit with us a good bit and mom said she could spend the nights to but skin sis wanted to be home with the dog at night. HAPPY HUMPDAY! mom was feeding my crickets in my cricket farm and one managed to jump out. it had only a few minutes of freedom before i spied it and pounced on it.
mom said she has never seen me move so fast. its been a long time since i have eaten a live one. boy, was it ever tasty!

Hi Hulk
How are u sweetie? Mom only got a few blogs out yesterday, so she's sending the same blog with some new added to it! Mom got her cortisone injections in both of her shoulders yesterday, which she gets every 3 months. She usually gets some relief almost instantly, but her right shoulder actually feels worse today! Mom also went to her granddaughter's preschool graduation last evening! I had an exciting day today! It was mom's granddaughter Olivia's last day of preschool, & I got to go! Most of Livi's classmates came running up to mom at the graduation last night, very excited that I'm coming to their class today! Mom takes me to the preschool classes there every year, & I love seeing all the kids as much as they love seeing me! The only difficult part of any excursions, is mom getting me back into my carrier!
Mom is doing good today, but her nose is very sore! Mom has been giving me belly kisses for nearly 16 yrs, without incident! It's swollen on the right side & a bit bruised, even tho the damage was done on the inside! Because my nails & toes are so long, most of the damage was 2 inches down in the nasal cavity! The ER Doc said it was a good thing mom had previously had her adenoids removed, coz my nails would have destroyed the right one! Mom has to be rechecked in 2 weeks, or immediately if she starts bleeding again! She had to be cauterized in 4 different places & has to take an antibiotic! Mom said that the scariest part of having my toes stuck up her nose, was that she was very afraid my 2 toes would end up broken...mom was very relieved that my toes are absolutely fine! Mom refers to this incident as "NoseGate 2013"!
Mom doesn't want anyone to think that the ER Nurses & Docs were being discourteous, they were not! They were picturing a tiny pet bird, like a Budgie, not a large Macaw! Mom showed them a pic of me, they weren't expecting me to be so big! When mom said "Be glad I got her loose before I came in"! That's when they started laughing!

Our hearts are sad for all that loss of life in OK. What a terrible event.
Mom worked in the RVS room again today, the baby foxes are growing like weeds! There are still a ton of raccoons and a few ground hogs, too. Then she went to get her hair cut, and stopped to pick up some lunch. We all told her to eat fast, because both the boys have a game today, and Falco wants to watch and cheer. Tonight she's working at the museum again, a special evening event. On my page is a pic of the fountain mom got running the other day. It looks like it's terra cotta, but it's really a light plastic. ...Happy Humpday BC buddies, our week is half empty, and yet half full! We are looking at a slightly overcast and rainy day, but it makes our tomatoes and okra grow, and unfortunately the grass also! Dad used to spend a lot of time making our lawn and shrubs, and flower beds look so nice, but old age has cut a lot of that out! I am hoping to get out in my aviary for awhile, and Ziggy's cage is ready for outside! I'll probably stop by the game today because I love baseball so much, and I must see what aunt Auda packed in Sugar's Hello Kitty lunch box! Do you get to chew any to the packing materials? I would think there are some good boxes to chew up as you supervise the packing!
It is still hot here. In the city yesterday it was 109F! Probably only in the 90s at our house and we were inside all day with the fans on. My parronts went to see a Halle Berry movie that was sort of scary but they said it was a good movie.
I got a green pennant to wave at the ball game today...it has POIS on one side and HULK on the other side. My frother Budweiser is playing on the other team so Picabo & Scion will cheer for his team.

It is always a surprise to see a normally late coworker show up early. Once one showed up too early as she'd read the schedule wrong so left and came back at the time her shift started and of course was still late. Those that show up late then naturally want to leave right on time too. It can get annoying to have your shift end the exact time another starts and can't leave until they arrive to relieve you, and that's just not right.
How eggciting to be moving to a condo. The parronts only have the wall a/c since the house is small. The neighbors installed one and guess it works well, but costs them more than they thought in energy bills. Perhaps it'll even out over the years.
Yes, ought to repair your artwork themselves as the landlords will charge wayyyyy more than it should. Fix all holes and clean under the stove.
Did you see we won our opening game? Such an eggciting game since we 'tiels had to come from behind, but we never gave up. Guess we'll play your team in a couple of weeks.

Well she did it again. This time my peanut butter beard was spectacular! Mom kept saying...I'm sorry sweetie.....but this is soooo great. You know......if that makes mom happy then OK! I just let her click away! However, I am planning a hidden camera at the kitchen table though....

Yes we are lucky and grateful to have riden out the storm safely. Looks like the death toll isn't going to be as bad as they were originally letting us believe. Its still tragic to loose any one person though. Mom knows 27 people who have been affected in some manor and dad has 5 people with minor damage. The base were the folks worked locked them down on Monday so us FIDS just had to wait until they got home. We were ascared for mom and dad cause they work really close to were the moore tornado ripped through ... However, the Tinker community was spared on this one, thank goodness. Have a wonderful day. Hulk and Cookie head out
Hulk clutching dearly the money his daddy gave him so the boys can get ice cream after their miniature golf game. First decision Cookie tells Hulk is to choose what color ball you want. After Cookie gets orange and Hulk takes green, they each get a club and head out . . . hole 1 - a bridge ? OK, Hulk what we need to do is hit the ball over the bridge - Hulk looks at the 4 inch wide bridge with no sides and squawks - you're kidding !Come visit me, Cookie ready for bazbol !, BC Library Now Open & Fly with the angels my Sally.

Now, mom wants me to put my toys away before bed ... what's with that?
Yes, we got hit hard but thank goodness nothing like OK.
Sorry I wasn’t on the BC on Monday. We had a very severe t-storm that lasted several hours. It cause some flooding, trees down, wires down, and no power in most of our county. Everything was back up and running this morning.
I was very, very scared and snuggled with mom the whole time, not making a sound. I don’t like rain and this was very bad. As soon as we could, we turned on CNN and saw the terrible destruction in Oklahoma. Keeping all those people in our prayers, so sad.
