The family I was living with decided that they wanted another dog. I've been through quite a few homes through the years. I thought that I had found a great home but it was just another stop along the road of life. Everyone that I've lived with has passed me off onto someone, and never making a commitment to keep me for as long as they lived. Many people think that birds are disposable critters, and dismiss us too easily, so I was put up for adoption on petfinder. That's where my new mom found me. Turned out my mom knew my owner. They had met a few years earlier when my mom was looking for a bird and the lady I lived with had yet another for adoption. When we met it was love at first sight! I did everything I could to get her attention because I knew I was being sold again and I wanted to pick my owner this time. So I snuggled up to her and talked to her. The people talked amongst themselves and the lady left. I was sad. I didn't think I'd see her again. But in about 30 minutes she returned with a box. I was put in the box and taken to her house. On the way home I was very curious about where I was going and who had me. I chewed a hole in the box so I could look out at the people. As we drove I peeked at them with one eye to the hole, when I did this they started cracking up, so I said "hello?" The lady I liked came with a friend so I wasn't sure who I was going to live with. But when we got to a house, it turned out to be the woman I really liked. So this new woman brought me into her home and put my cage in the living room with the entire family. I was a bit nervous I must say but I continued to talk and make everyone laugh. I'm very thankful for petfinder or I may not have found my forever home (or at least as long as my owner lives). She has promised me that she will take care of me until one of us dies. If she dies before me, I will live with one of her skin kids! My mom said she is going to set up a bank account just for me and my two buddies so we will have money when we are older and a new owner can care for us. Thank you for reading about me!. Awards

Basically EVERYTHING--but loves fruit!

My shoulder or sleeping on my chest.

Gloves, small children & the shower head.

She spoils me by letting me hang out with her as much as possible, give me all types of food, talks to me and plays with me. I really love the attention.

Likes to climb into buckets/bowls to find food. As well as strange body posture while singing opera!.

  Hello from Brett
It's wonderful to read about a bird finding a great forever home! I'm at my third home now and my new mom promises that she will keep me forever. I'm only 10 though so we'll see, she just found out I can live over 50 years. There is not a lot known about my species. My mom has always wanted an amazon, she is particular to the blue fronts, she just loves your wild personalities. You sound like a lot of fun! Hope your doing well, and heres a vote for you!

Come visit me, Brett - Greater Vasa Parrot, Pippin & Ollie (the bird formerly known as Harry).

Tweety needs your votes for her poem. Her foot had to be amputated Feb. 26th due to the main blood supply being cut in her leg. We had to separate her from her cage mate. I wanted to get her a big cage to move (fly around) in and after paying 258.00 for her leg to become amputated we could not afford to buy her the cage of her dreams. We notice that she flies a little to get around her cage and can defiantly use a bigger one. Thank you; please visit her web site at

Come visit me, Tweety, Frosty and Ringo.

  Hello From Canada
Hi! Pogey! Glad that you came to visit my page and get to know how sweet I was and gave lots of years of joy to my mom and dad. If your mom decides to get a canary, she will find out that we put lots of joy in the house with our songs. Males do sing more often and have better songs, but I did my best;especially when I wanted to lay eggs. I woould have been a good mommie. Like the photo that you are getting your own toast from the toaster, that is my mom's favorite in the morning. Gave you a vote for how cute you are!

Here’s a vote for you and a birdie poem:

I love birds, I love them so,
Life without them I’ll never know.
Each day starts with a meeting,
Chirps and whistles it’s their own special greeting.
Fresh fruits and veggies to wash and chop,
Served with warm birdie bread to fill each crop.
Toys of wood, leather and bells,
Makes for fun with loud squawking yells.
Feathers and pellets all over my floor,
Does not deter me from loving them more.
As the sun fades we share kisses and scritches,
Then it’s off to each cage with sweet dream wishes.

If you enjoyed that, please stop by the Bird Contest section on this website and give us your vote in the poetry contest – we are on page 4! Mom would like to add another member to our flock and by winning a new cage, this would encourage Daddy to let her do so!

Come visit me, Riley, Tinkerbell, Tiki & Sayde Rose.

Yeah N.H is pretty in the summer. We use to live in Worcester , Mass and went often to visitin in NH in summer for rock hunting and neat flea markets up there and nice beaches. :) But brr in the winter, I hear ya. We love it down here now. :) And we do not know any amazons either except for on this site. They are unique :) Wanted to ALSO say thanks for the compliments and I went back and read more on your story. It got my tears going. You could of not explained it better how he felt being passed from home to home. I laughed at the hole in the box thing. I tear easily with bird stories.
