Cappy spent the first year-and-a-half of his life at our local PetSmart. I had a flock of tiels and didn't need or want another bird, but I spent a lot of time "talking" to him in his cage at PetSmart during that time. (btw the "girls" at the store spoiled him rotten carrying him around feeding him treats talking to him teaching him to bark, quack, purr, etc.)

After a major bird room accident I lost all but one of my tiels. I was devastated and told Cappy all about it whenever I went to PetSmart. My remaining tiel needed some company to help him over his grief, but I couldn't bear the idea of "replacing" my beloved flock. Cappy convinced me that I should bring him home and, after quarantine was over, he and Junior took up residence in side-by-side (huge) cages and have been there ever since -- that's almost 4 years now.

Anything Daddy is eating

Anywhere Dad is, if not, top of cage

Mom (when Dad's home.) Going "in" to bed.
People not sharing food.

She forgives me when I misbehave and tries to understand what I'm trying to tell her with my body language -- because I feel really bad if I have to bite her to get my point across. Luckily, I haven't had to bite her in a long, long time!

When Cappy is upset and he would really like to bite someone (usually me) he puts his foot over his beak and holds it closed with his toes..

What're you doin?.

  Hello Cappy
What a pretty bird. What an interesting vocabulary. i like that you try to control the need to bite by holding your beak--I would love to see that. I am sorry for your owner's bird room accident, but how wonderful that someone you already knew was ready to give you a new home. Do you get along well with Junior? Has he gotten over his loss?

Come visit me, Polly; Summertime! & Zippy; WOW, Thank You Friends for this honor!.
